Give him no more than 10 minutes a game. Might as well. He's gone next year anyway, and does very little for NU while on the floor. If he's not perfectly in rhythm when he catches the ball, he doesn't seem to do his one job -- putting the ball in the hoop. He is a poor ballhandler. On defense, three feet from the basket, he shifted his body entirely to take away a pass back out to the three point line and allowed his man to pivot and make an uncontested layup. What??

Divide his minutes up between Greer, Kopp and Benson, depending on the matchup. All three will be needed next year.

We were all hoping for a lot more from him. CCC plays him with the hope he'll find a higher level of play, but that experiment is over and the season with it.

Good idea, let those who will play next season get more PT now.

Taylor started but played only 20 minutes.
Kopp got 15 minutes and Falzon 19.

Taylor and Kopp were both 1-4 from the field, Falzon 0-3.

So yes, playing Kopp more didn't help, despite the opinions of some on this board. And Greer, though I have liked him at times, was an unmitigated disaster last night...

So it was last night that finally broke you?

Broke me from what? I predicted we would be boatraced last night, actually. Started a whole thread about it. That does not change my position that 10 years from now, CC will be just like Fitz, regarded as one of the best coaches in Wildcat history, if not the best. I remember the criticisms of Fitz early on as well; I defended him ad nauseum, believing he would be a great coach...

I don’t know that I’ve ever read anything other than sunshine and rainbows from you. Maybe I’ve not read as much lately.

Should have done so several games ago. Or so I said.

Many posters (myself included) want to see Kopp on the court more hoping his development will speed up as a result of increased playing time. That's not something that will happen after just one game.

I'm still glad Collins brought in Taylor (and wish Ryan all the best), but this season is toast. It is time to look to the future.

Isn't Nance supposed to be back by now?
He was on the bench last Wednesday. I'm going to guess he will play at Ohio State on Wednesday since that is his home state and he will presumably have had some decent practice time by then.

he missed about a month with mono. basically bed ridden. it is very difficult to be back in physically capable condition a week after coming back. i don't believe he is even practicing with the team yet.

His return depends on his spleen, one of the problems with mono is an enlarged spleen.

The question for the young guys is less about whether it will help and more of whether it will hurt. If it won't hurt, rather play the young guys as the minutes played will help their development. The reason Taylor should be playing is that it helps us win. If it doesn't, no point playing him

Collins doesn't have the luxury of splitting playing time to give Greer and Kopp experience, he needs to play to win. Cats are facing a nightmare scenario of going into the off season on a 13 game losing streak unless they can find a win or two down the stretch. A last place finish and a long losing streak won't make 2020 recruiting any easier. Play to win each game.

Man... we had this same conversation two years ago. But.... it felt more urgent back then.

It really doesn’t make sense to start Taylor. Those minutes really are better used on Turner, Greer, Kopp, or Tino, if he remains on the roster.
