It's that time of the year for "best [ ] 2015" threads. Let's go ahead and nip music in the bud. Here are my picks:

Vince Staples - Summertime

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

Chris Stapleton --- Traveller
I'm getting real tired of technology being the driving force behind the music we are offered today and am very glad that artists like Chris Stapleton still have a role in all of this. Real guitars and drums and vocals > midi drums and digital sound libraries and pitch-corrected singing/rapping.

Thank you Nashville for keeping old school music of all genres relevant.

Just a few I'd like to toss in:

"Carry The Ghost" - Noah Gundersen. This track here is probably my favorite song of the year. Someone cutting onions in here?

"Milk" - Better Off. Reminds me of good early 2000s pop-punk. I've replayed this one a lot.

"Currents" - Tame Impala. I'd never given this band a chance but this is a pretty freaking good album. So much good going on here. Video is NSFW though.

Another vote for Jason Isbell's Something More Than Free. Going to see him in February and can't wait.

Other albums I liked:

Chris Stapleton's Traveler
Eric Church's Mr. Misunderstood
Alabama Shakes' new album (can't think of the name of it)

It's probably Tame Impala, although I'm almost inclined to give it to Father John Misty out of spite.

Panda Bear and Deerhunter also put out decent records, and I liked of Montreal's latest. And, of course, there's a new Oh Sees album that's very solid.

My current favorite band of the moment King Gizz also put out a couple of albums, but neither is as good as last year's.
