What is the best way to go? Had spectrum for years and got tired of the price increases mainly. Cut the chord and tried that for a year or so, now I’m tired of the antenna cutting in and out occasionally and streaming device freezing constantly. Anybody had dish and is it decent?

I still have spectrum internet because it's fast and has never once been out of service in the 10+ years I've had it.

I cut the cable cord awhile back and right now and switched to Hulu with live TV. About 1/3 what I used to pay for cable. No complaints so far.

We have Dish happy with service. They are like everyone else increase
prices and you usually can call and get them to lower it somewhat.
We live in a very rural area and choices are limited.
We still have to have landline due to our internet provider.

I switched from Dish and Spectrum cable internet to AT&T fiber and Hulu. Way better and way cheaper now.
By the time we got what everyone wanted on Dish it was ridiculously high, so we switched to Hulu. It kept buffering or not connecting so I called Spectrum. Their response was that my neighborhood had high usage and that's the way it was, period. Switched to AT&T for less and no buffering.
I have to say that I really loved cancelling Dish and Spectrum. Both have horrible service and their best rates are for new customers only. When I called to cancel they both were super friendly and offered much better rates. If you're stuck with either I recommend threatening with cancellation and seeing if you can get a better rate.

Any plans to bring Metronet to Richmond? We have DirecTV (which I love) for TV and Spectrum for internet. Our internet is terrible. I have to reset our modem and router almost daily.

Leave the cord dead it’s garbage.

Youtube TV for sure is the way to go. Wish I would have cut the cord years ago. I switched over last fall and couldn't be happier.

Been with time warner and spectrum (as of 2 yrs ago) for 20 years +. received a letter ystrday saying my new rate will increase by $15, making my new monthly rate $243.
I’m going with youtube tv = $50 mo + $70 spectrum internet, saving me nearly $1500 a year.
Youtube has my local channels, several espn which i care about for college basketball, sec channel, golf channel, and most channels i watch regularly.
Cable tv finally broke this camel’s back.

At what point is internet just “fast enough!”

What’s his face says that metronet is way better than spectrum but I have 5 TVs, 4 phones, 2 Xbox ones, and 2 tablets in my house, and no matter many are In use at once I have never once thought “man, it’s too bad I don’t have faster internet.”

Its really a no-brainer. I was the same except I had DirecTV. Now I don't have to worry about storms knocking my satellite out. Unlimited DVR just makes it super easy. Watch golf on my phone at the office during the day.

Just switched from that exact same setup to Metronet and have been happy, saving $90 per month as well

Bump your internet and go with YouTube TV. Works perfectly, use Netflix to fill in the gaps. Saved $140/month when i left DirectTV.

Thanks for the replies, gonna give YouTube tv a try. Didn’t realize you get local channels on there also.

Did I read this right? You can only have 3 streams of YoutubeTV going at one time ?

Playstation Vue has a maximum of 5 streams. I've been using it for about a year with no problems and I get all my local channels. The only gripe I have about cutting the cord is no surround sound for my home theater.

Somewhat misleading. 2 of the 5 have to be a Playstation.

What are options for watching YouTubeTV on a non-smart TV? Can you get it on a Firestick or is it just a Roku?

Also, what's the difference between YouTubeTV, YouTube Premium, and YouTube Red?

Have Spectrum and have been very satisfied with it. Don't lose signal. Internet is very fast and much cheaper than Dish or DirecTV.

I like Dish if you want to stick with a traditional service or if you have a bandwidth cap. Go thru about 500GB a month in my household with a 1TB cap, can imagine we would likely easily hit that if we had YouTube TV. If I wasn't on a data cap would be a different story.

With Dish I can have one Joey DVR and connect it to every TV in the house, got free HD "for life" when I got it too.

Another vote for youtubetv. They’ve added a few channels in the last couple of months, and I don’t know the numbers now - but when I switched in October I was getting 66 channels and 22 of them were sports.

Also, then you could stream 6 at a time, not 3. Maybe that’s changed.

Also then, Google and Amazon were fighting, so you couldn’t use a Firestick to stream YouTubetv. I use Roku instead.

To state the obvious, so long as your internet package (i.e. download speed) is sufficient, you won’t have any issues and it really is the way to go. $50 a month, no comparison.

Now, if there was only a viable alternative for internet. Cable companies really have a monopoly there, seeems to me. Meaning you only have one option.....
