One of the following: OSU, Michigan State, Miami, NC State. I'd say they give us a Big Ten vs. ACC winner. They WILL NOT give UK a cupcake mid-major 8/9 match up like they will Duke.

If Indiana doesn't bow out in their first B10 game and miss the NCAA Tourney altogether, they'll be in our 8/9 mix.

Indiana will not be on the 8/9 line...they'll be lucky to be in the tourney. Michigan State will be a 6 or 7.

I'd say maybe an Iowa/Oregon type of winner.

The committee is a joke. Logically there should be no way IU is up for 8/9 consideration, but I bet you are right.

UGA, Ole Miss, Ohio St, Mich St, St. John's, NC St, Iowa, Oregon...are all teams that have been in the 7-9 seed range on most bracket predictions the past couple weeks...

how teams do in their conference tournaments and geography will play a roll...

It would be hard for the NCAA to pass up UK vs Ohio St...buckeye fans would have a huge turn out in Louisville...

IU at best should be a 12 seed. I honestly don't think they should get in at all though. They will likely only win 1 game in their tournament (if that) and that would have them losing 5 of their last 7 games and be 20-13 I believe.

I agree, they're a joke at the 8/9 spot... but the Committee is just not going to be able to resist it. They're dying to push the Revenge of 1975/Spirit of 1976-Indiana vs. unbeaten-UK storyline. I think they even had a graphic last night, after the Whoosiers went down, that still had them as last 4 in, and said they'd be in the 8/9 slot. The propaganda is already in place, LOL!

If IU embarrasses themselves (even more) with a blowout loss in the first B10 Tourney game, that might put an end to it... with Ohio State as the replacement in the 8/9 scenario.

I feel extremely confident that barring an Ohio State run in the Big 10 Tournament that it'll be one of Dayton, Ohio State, or Xavier.

Hmmm... I wouldn't mind seeing a combination out of those 3, and throw IU (if they make it) into the mix... and that's a game I'll pencil in as must-watch TV!

You mean 3rd round, OP?

I think committee will give us the winner of Oklahoma State (b/c of the Travis Ford connection) and H to the Izzo. But luckily, we've got Jay Z (aka V to the VA) in our corner.

Not sure, but I think their last name will be "State"

Ohio State
Michigan State
Oklahoma State
North Carolina State

Obviously it's hard to predict, but I think UK will get an 8/9 winner that will be a game between two Big 5 conference teams, probably the B10 and the ACC, but possibly a B12 team as well. The list would include UNC, NC State or possibly Miami, Baylor, West Virginia, Michigan St, Iowa, Purdue, and Ohio St. The good news is the game will be in Louisville, not in Cleveland. My hunch is our 8/9 game will be a matchup of the ACC and the B10.

How they going to do that? UK fans have most of the tickets already.

I'll also say again, it is absurd that an 8/9 seed gets geographical favortism if that does happen.

Guys, please just stop with the whole "they're going to stick us with IU" crying. First off, why would we NOT want that? They are a joke and we would crush them by 40.
Second, they are not going to get an 8 or a 9, they have too many bruises on their tournament reseme to obtain that high of a seed. If they get in they will get a 12.
As far as our 8/9 teams, I see Cincinnati, Ohio State, Iowa or Dayton in there with an outside shot at Michigan state getting in there.
Nobody's talking about Cincinnati but they are a decent team and are looking like a possible 9 seed at this point.

I've noticed a lot of projections with Ohio State, Cincinnati, Michigan State, and Dayton.

A Kentucky - Cincinnati matchup in Louisville would be interesting.

IU would have to make the Big Ten semifinals in order to move up to the 8/9 line. We will likely see an NC State, Ohio State, or Dayton type of team.

Agree with everyone. Midwest will be stacked (it always is) but definite bias wil show this year.

Ohio St
Michigan St
NC St

Duke and Va will get the Mod majors.

The committee wouldn't let an 8-9 team play 1 mile from their home state, even with the geography b.s. they're pushing. There's no way Indiana gets up to an 8-9 anyway.

I just assume U of L gets on a roll in the conference tourney and moves up to a 3 seed. I can't stand any more rival stress in the NCAAs. It's taking years off my life.

One of these 5 teams

OSU
Dayton
Xavier
OK st
Cincy

I thought it would IU but they will be a 11 or 12 if they even make it in ( which they won't as i expect them to choke in the Big 10 tourney early.

I've watched them all year. They have scoring issues but a few guys, Cobb, Thomas, Ellis are streaky. Won 5 in-a-row now but only 1 guy has imposing size, DeBerry off the bench. Ellis is rail-thin.
