I mean Buie is an absolute stud. Watched the game with DePaul buddies and they kept saying “that’s an NBA guard”.

I don’t think he’s athletic enough for NBA and who knows if he can keep anything like this up, but he makes it look effortless at times which is a great sign. I don’t think he can even dunk. But if he fills out, keeps improving and grows 2-3 inches than he seems to have all the skills. He’s listed at 6 ft 2 but looks more like 5 ft 11.

I am sure he can dunk. This isn’t 1978.

Predicting NBA is a little early. Although he is the best at creating his own shot as I’ve seen at northwestern. He’s the first NU player I’ve seen that can split two defenders and easily hit the shot. He has a natural shot from deep. It won’t always fall like the last to games but I doubt he’ll have long scoring droughts. He has the swagger and mentality that you can’t coach. Passes looked a lot better against DePaul than MSU. Looking forward to his growth

Not a chance he can’t dunk. Also not a chance he’s 5’11”. He towered over Charlie Moore last night, how is tiny but he was a head taller. I’m not saying he’s an NBA player but his size is not at all an issue.

With regards to size, he needs to get thicker. Our problem all across this roster is no longer height, but width.

he had a wide open chance to dunk recently on a break and seemed to sky as far as he could and was still under the rim. Maybe he can go higher but that play suggested to me he couldn’t or at least not confident enough in a game situation.

he looked small to me and maybe the smallest guy on the court. Didn’t see the towering except when Moore got low to make a move. But hope you’re right that he’s plenty tall.

Rewatch the game. He’s about an inch taller than Spencer. Not even close to the smallest guy on the court. He actually has nice length for a lead guard. Height is not a problem for him. I know the other comment was about him filling out, but really is well built for a freshman. Overall the team needs to bulk up but Buie is not a size problem. I’m also fairly certain he dunked in the exhibition game? Anyone remember that?

Bouie looks to be very coachable.

Playing a different game today than he was in the exhibition game.

He has the potential to be very good.....physical attributes...current PG skill level...offensive capability....smarts

He's already very fun to watch

I’ve watched him in person and on TV. I am seeing a pretty skinny kid who seems 6 foot at best. But I’ll keep an open mind and hope he’s much bigger than I’m seeing.

You must be watching a different player from your comfy couch. Maybe try to actually come to a game a see this young man in person.

Who cares? Isaiah Thomas is probably 5’8 now and still playing in the NBA.

Boo also has the best nickname of any Wildcat since... ever?

Count me in on the Boo Buie experience. He is a stud and may help save CCC’s career in Evanston.

I knew you had an unhappy personality disorder, but didn't realize it was actually a mental disorder. In the post you replied to I said I have watched him in person :)

Who cares what Buie's actual height is...He is quick, can create his own shot and has a quick release. He is natural shooter and good creator for his teammates. I have not seen this kind of creator at NU.

i agree that he’s awesome. Are you suggesting height doesn’t matter though? Maybe Haywood knows his real height.

Height matters to a degree. So does quickness and many other skills. Quickness can make up for lack of height. Buie has quickness and a quick release that makes his height fine.

Of course I agree that a lot matters and that Buie has been wonderful—and all things being equal you’d take a 6 ft 4 kid over 5 ft 11. It’s nonsensical to argue that height doesn’t help in basketball more often that not

So you are saying Manute Bol was better than Michael Jordan because he was over a foot taller? Height is not everything in basketball.

I said “all things being equal.” If you think MJ and Manute Bol were otherwise equal you weren’t paying attention. I also said more often than not height helps. I am not debating Buie is great, he’s the most exciting frosh guard I’ve seen at NU in 25 yrs.

(Obviously, Juice is a better nickname. But Boo had the foresight to make Boo his official name, which is cooler still.)

He’s 6’2. Maybe closer to 6’3. I was uncertain how his game would transfer over. After first few games I did not see it. He’s given me that most sought after commodity.... Hope
