I just returned from putting at Patti’s in Grand Rivers. Tough course and well shaded.
So that got me thinking…where’s the best place for mini-golf in Ky?

I remember hearing about a Bible themed course in Lexington, but not sure about Louisville or Covington or Bowling Green. Let’s hear it for summer threads. Yay

When I grew up in Lexington many moons ago, the putt putt course at the par 3 on Mason Headley was super fun. Can’t help with anything current. Too hot here in Vegas to putt putt!

Love me some putt putt! (and golf in general) I’m from Boone County, so I can tell you about the ones I know up here. In no particular order:

1. World of Golf (Florence, KY)
World of Golf

Pros: Fun course; Kentucky themed with bourbon barrels, horse shoes, and the pictured Florence Y’all replica water tower; Connected to a golf facility equipped with driving range, indoor golf simulators, and a 9 hole par 3 course; located close to the snack bar for access to adult beverages.
Cons: As you can see, not very well shaded; Located probably 175 yds from interstate 75 so it is loud and hard to chat with your playing partners; It’s also located in a direct flight path for CVG airport nearby so you have occasional planes flying LOW overhead adding to the noise.

2. Putt Putt Fun Center (Erlanger, KY)
Putt Putt Fun Center

Pros: This place is retro cool; If I were to guess, I’d say it was built in the 70s? And they have kept it in good shape; It’s well shaded in the evening and have lights to play after dark.
Cons: Nothing fancy, just pure unadulterated putt putt… but I like simple.

3. Boone Links Putt Putt (Florence, KY)
Boone Links Putt Putt

Pros: Brand new; Nice new clubhouse too; One of the holes (I kid you not) looks like you are putting through a female body part. Haha You have to putt it between two p***y lips to get to the hole. I would say “I wonder what the designer was thinking on that one.” But I know EXACTLY what he was thinking.
Cons: No shade; The cups are those clanky medal ones that have the rim on top that I don’t particularly care for.

Not saying these are the best in the state but informing you of the good ones up here if you’re ever in my neck of the woods. There’s always the state park ones but I’m sure you know those are almost always run down and in terrible condition.

Thanks for the post. There aren't too many options around Louisville (where I grew up) or Lexington (where I live now) so I'm looking forward to checking a couple of these out next time I'm up there.

You should have went across the river to Marshall County to Maggie’s Jungle Golf!

Best area in the state, in my opinion. Kentucky Lake is one-of-a-kind.

I can't believe the one in Erlanger is still there! If it wasn't around in the 70s, it was most certainly very early 80s. EDIT: Has actually been around since the mid-60s (55yrs)!!!

Like you said, the one at Boone Links is brand new and compared to World of Golf it is not usually very crowded, either.

World of Golf has also been renovated relatively recently. They've also redone the driving range, within the last month or so, with the ball tracker/simulator screens and added a restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating.

Lexington run down:

Bible Putt Putt at the Ice Center is fine. Haven’t been since before Covid but it was a little run down then. Still some challenging holes.

Champs behind Meijer(s) has a course. It’s small but cool looking and air conditioned.

Haven’t played Malibu Jacks but it looks kinda plain

Edit: Forgot about White Haven. Very plain but inexpensive. I assume it’s still open.

Isn’t the ice center have 54 holes with 3 18 hole courses?

Impossible to count; the number of times we'd skip school back in the day, get baked, and go play that Par 3 course there.

The first green was an adventure. It was adjacent to the right side of the driving range, so every sliced drive headed straight for it. You had to putt with your head on a swivel.

Elizabethtown has one now that just opened recently. Haven’t been but looks like full sun. There is an elevated bar and lawn games on property as well. Stays packed for now.

Loved that place for putt putt and played the Par 3 once and had a great time. Place closed down within the year … sorry about that.
