Best things that could happen this upcoming season?

Other than a winning record and a bowl game. What do you think would be the best things or things for this team to accomplish?
My top 5
1.) Pull an LSU and upset Alabama. This would work wonders for the teams confidence and could only help recruiting.
2.) Finally get the monkey off our back and end the streak to Flordia.
3.) Beat UT and end the ugly streak before it gets pit of control again.
4.) Most fans #1 Beat UL.
5.) To surprise a lot of people and make it in the TOP 25.

Win 7 games in the the regular season. That ensures us a bowl game and two game improvement which the fan base needs to see.
Would love to have a heathy Boom all season,
that alone would greatly increase our chances for success.

Yes a healthy boom is instrumental to the teams success. Along with a healthy and hopefully grown up hatcher. The most important improvements are the line play on both sides of the ball, the WRs dropping everything under the sun and, game management.

Hell I'd be happy with any two of the five you have listed. First and foremost I want to see a competitive team that plays with the heart of a champion, whether they win or lose.

The only 2 things that should ever matter to Kentucky in football:

1. END THAT STUPID FREAKING STREAK TO FLORIDA AND NEVER, EVER, EVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

2. Beat Tennessee enough times that they don't get a chance to have a streak.

Until those 2 things happen, nothing is more important in football.

This is so far off it is unbelievable. Basically you are saying a 2-10 record is fine as long as the wins are against Tennessee and Florida.

1. Establish the QB spot going forward as either Barker or Johnson. To me, this has held us back ever since Hartline graduated.
2. Defensive identity...how do we attack to rush passer from 3-4...are we a blitzing team, etc..
2. We need to beat UF and end that silly streak for sure I agree.

Hmm. I didn't really look at it like that, honestly. I just assumed we would win at least 6-7 games if that were to happen. Kentucky could go 10-2 every year and win the national championship for the next 5 years and no one would take us seriously if we can't beat UT more regularly and just freaking beat Florida every now and then.

Honestly, this team just needs to make the plays that matter, the easy plays. We were one play from beating Florida, Auburn, and Vandy. 3 plays from an 8 win season. Yes, people will say we were one play from losing 4 of our wins, but those games didn't have the both hands on your head yelling "you've got to be kidding me" plays like Dorian Baker's drops against Florida and Auburn, and the stupid trick play for Vandy. We had to earn our four close wins, and blatantly choked on our should-be other three wins. Make the easy plays, we go bowling this year. So many times, Boom was wide open out of the backfield for a huge potential gain, and he was overthrown, or on 3rd and short we go for a 40 yard bomb, etc. Just make the simple passes and catches, utilize CJ Conrad, make Blake Bone a red-zone target, etc. This is not a bad team as people seem to make it out to be. There are competitive, SEC quality players to work with. With Gran and Hinshaw to help, I believe these easy plays will happen, and thus, we will go bowling in 2016.

What we will see this year is an offense that looks organized and looks to have a plan. Gran already said we will go super fast we have the talent and depth at wr tend and rb to do this with some success.

I'll be a bit more modest, just find a solid answer at the QB position which means the starter and the backup. I think we have all the other ingredients on offense to have a big year on that side.

If you win the national championship 5 years in a row everyone is taking you seriously. Except maybe Tennessee if they beat you all 5 years. That should be common sense.

To be fair, if we're beating UT and UF, a better record than 2-10 overall is implied....

Nothing in sports is guaranteed if it was there would be no reason to play the game. It was implied that we should have demolished EKU last year look how that turned out. Ask all of the power 5 teams that have lost to FCS teams of anything is guaranteed. Better yet as Tom Brady and a undefeated Patriots team about going against the Giants and a mediocre (my opinion) Eli Manning.

I understand that no one game is guaranteed, and I can easily envision a scenario where a IF UK beats Florida and Tennessee in the same year, then we turn around and lose to a cupcake (actually, it's kind of hard to envision beating Florida and Tennessee in the same year, anyway)- but to beat Florida and Tennessee and lose to EVERY other team?

Hard to imagine, but, truthfully, I'd take a 2-10 season with those two wins over another crappy 5-7 season with wins over two other bad SEC teams and three bad midmajor/FSC teams.
