Although I never finished Breaking Bad, his character on it was really great. Kind of interested to see what direction they take his show.

How did you not finish Breaking Bad?

I was skeptical about Better Call Saul, but the reviews have been incredible and I'm extremely excited to watch.

If you have it set to DVR already you may want to check it. Mine recorded a 5 minute bit introducing the show and characters. It did it Monday night at 11.

I was watching Dexter concurrently and that took precedence over BB. I should really get around to finishing it, Cranston is phenomenal when he's not Frankie Muniz's dad.

Yep. If you finished dexter before breaking bad; you failed television.

Saul was my favorite character so I'm all about this.

As for Dexter, it was awesome seasons 1-4 (4 is the best) but it took a massive decline and I stopped watching after season five.

Gonna be a great show. Bob Odenkirk is a genius. Mr. Show was probably the smartest sketch comedy show that was ever made.

Although I'm not a fan of prequels, I'm sure it will be a great show.

To the poster who stopped watching BB for Dexter...you suck.

Probably bc it's not that good.
Everytime this conversation comes up I always think of the Family Guy bit where people are hypnotized to automatically assume BB is the greatest television show ever created (well, maybe except for the Wire), and how you will endlessly parrot BB's awesomeness to everyone else.

I'd love to hear what Vern's standards for television are if BB is "not that good" to him. Big Bang Theory? How I Met Your Mother?

Just because a ton of people love something doesn't mean that you automatically have to take the contrarian opinion because you're a hipster douche. There are some things that are extremely popular that are, in fact, great.

Better Call Saul - I really hope it's great. I'm just struggling to see how Odenkirk carries this himself. I love the guy and love Mr. Show / all his Adult Swim work / etc...I just don't know about this show yet.

This really snuck up, probably because I haven't watched AMC since the BB finale.

Can't wait. Honestly there's no chance that this isn't good. Zero.

I don't watch BBT or HIMYM, dipshit. Sorry your feelings were hurt bc not everyone on earth isn't attached to the nut sack of BB. I don't think it's a bad show, nor do I think it's a great show. It's about the same level as The Shield for me. I'll admit I'm biased towards HBO shows bc I feel the quality is just so much better. When I watch AMC shows, I feel like I'm watching an inferior product. The Wire, imo, is the greatest show of all time. BB doesn't compare. I've said it before, it's like saying Ron Harper was as good as MJ. Harper was a solid player, but he's no Jordan. If you don't feel the same that's fine. But spare me the whining and bitching every time someone doesn't share your view. It makes you sound like a little *****. And when I think of hipster douches, I picture you and your buddies gathering up to watch a BB marathon just after you all sucked each other off.

I love HBO shows as well...The Wire and The Sopranos are probably my two favorite shows of all time...and Curb Your Enthusiasm is my favorite comedy. Breaking Bad is still a great show doh.

Such animosity. Relax Vern. Not everyone can have good taste in the arts and that's perfectly fine. You're still an honorable man and people do take you seriously.

You were a big fan of John from Cincinnati weren't you?

I loved JFC, correct. And I'm not saying I'm right. It's just my opinion. I watched Breaking Bad. I was entertained. I admit I went too far when I said it wasn't that good. It's a good show. I just don't hold it in such high regard as others do. I also was a huge fan of Carnivale, which lets me know that the kind of shows I like are always going to struggle to remain on air. I live with it.

And BB is better than Ron Harper. I'll give it Mitch Richmond.
