Hey, looks like our staff needs all the help and direction possible, at least as of rn. I know im SICK of losing out and watching the recruits that will make a real impact and difference go to everyone else but UK!!! Got anything worthy to add?

Just wish we knew the cause of missing kids. If they choose to stay close to home, so be it, but how did ul grab the 2 guys they got and auburn grab hall? Is it money related? If so, uk is screwed
Pierre has everyone going after him. In the current landscape why would we land Pierre and yaxel? Why would they want to come to UK? What is the selling point ? All nil? Pope needs a niche. He just going after everyone.
It’s a combination of things….but please know the NCAA doesn’t really investigate or punish “tampering” so a lot of schools have been talking to players agents on the down low for months. So they go in the portal but it’s a foregone conclusion where they are going.
The only negativity is from our fans who have the patience of a 5 year old

We already over bid on Jasper. His numbers are way higher than his ability. We were far and away higher than anyone on Wilson until UNC got desperate. We were reported to offer Dent $3M. I think the money is fine.
Pope’s problem is he has to replace 4 starters and the next 3 in the rotation. That is a lot of spots that he has to be financially responsible for. He can’t say screw it. I’ll give $5 million to secure player A when he has so many needs.
Who reported that we offered Dent 3 million? I've heard a lot of rumors without any substantiation. A lot of them are coming from Matt Jones's corner of the world. Are they the same guys that said we offered Braden Smith 4 million to come to Kentucky? It's hard for me to imagine any of that being true, considering we have not paid anyone over what Jasper will be making next year, at least not up until this point. Lanier was reportedly making almost 2 million last year for Tennessee. Kentucky hasn't come close to paying a single player that much money; and yet that's the issue. You have to have at least one player like that to make a true final four run.
And Jasper got around $1.3 million, which is probably only a few hundred thousand over market value actually. If overpaying for him put us significantly over budget, we're in deeper trouble than any of us imagined.
Bigger city with more businesses/alum that are willing to give millions and millions with little returns. Pretty simple.
I trust Pope to get the necessary guys. No one in the portal is a “must” get. We will get the guys who fit our system and current team.

It is NOT always money! It still is called recruiting. Time will tell if Pope is just a good coach or if he is also a recruiter.
The report was Dent was possibly asking for $3M, not that Kentucky had offered that.
No one knows these NIL numbers except for the players, their agents, and the schools. I wish people would stop just throwing **** at walls.
We don't have to have any single target, but we can't miss on all the top targets and expect to win with a balanced team of a lot of average to above average players. Almost every championship team has one stud if not two or three.

The main selling point, aside from money, is exposure.
UK is a prime time program. They have UK front and center on ESPN twice a week and these players are treated like Kings here.
If you want to get to the NBA and you want the NBA to notice you, go to UK or Duke.
