Apparently FC Tulsa put in a proposal to do this. Was mentioned on last Friday's webstream.

Apparently they have put considerable effort and money into upgrading their training facilities. Done with little fanfare. Perhaps they really are serious about competing at the highest level? Certainly, the Craft family is not lacking in resources.

Team base camp, or actual host city with games there?

Team base camp. Game host sites are already decided and they already know which group games are going where along with knockout stage games pitting group A1 vs Group B2 for example. My guess is they know Mexico is group A, US will be slotted into Group B and Canada in Group C as the 1 teams in each group and then filled out from there so they can slot those teams into venues in their respective countries for the group stages. Qatar was A1 for the last World Cup.

FC Tulsa has sunk considerable money into the actual playing fields at the Ascension St. John's complex. What they would need to do is sink considerable money into the locker room there. I don't know what FC Tulsa has for a locker room at that facility these days. There is a weight room and a cardio/work out room and they used to have some PT tables. I'm assuming with St. John's as part of it they might have a focus on doing some rehab and a PT out there to make that something that is attractive. The turf fields indoors and the primary field being turf out there might be an issue but I can also see where they might partner with TU to use their fields. TU would probably need to add some high angle video capabilities.

They were not on the list of places to host, but OKC with the Sheraton was, which made me chuckle.

The National, Skirvin, Fordson, Colcord, Omni, and Ellison, along with about 20 other places, are better than that POS.
