Are they just going to give Player of the Week honors to Kofi Cockburn every week? Boo Buie just led the Cats to two wins with 43 points in two games. I know Kofi had a great week too against two better teams but I think he already got the award twice. And then there was the Frosh of the Week Honors to Bryce McGowens of winless Nebraska after he got totally shut down by the Cats in what everyone thought might be a winnable home game for them on Saturday.

When do they announce the awards and for what time period? I just remember that McGowens was already the Frosh Player of the Week before our game as I remember chuckling when I saw it scroll across the bottom of the screen as we were holding him to 5 points in the first half.
He had ONE POINT in the first half. What a joke that FOTY award has become. McGowens has won it five times this year and the last two weeks in a row.
Yeah.... maybe it was part-way through the second half already when I saw that. Either way, I wonder if that game will go into the decision for the next POW award.
It’s a meaningless award, but regardless giving it to Buie just because Kofi already won it twice would be silly. Especially if you actually compare their stat lines and look at the competition.
Kofi: 54 pts on 32 FGA (69%), 20 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 TO, 67 min played. Against KenPom #37 and #19 defenses.
Boo: 45 pts on 25 FGA (56%), 5 Reb, 7 Ast, 2 TO, 59 min played. Against KenPom #52 and #164 defenses.
BIG usually tries to spread the awards around a bit more. That's all I'm saying. Didn't say there was no case for Kofi. Hope we can keep his scoring down on Sunday.
