with ESPN and Fox....18 months before contract is up. Seems they want to get idea on money to stay ahead of PAC 12

Smart maneuver. Doesn't mean they get anything out of it but gives general idea of what they need to do to get more.

Contract expires in 2025. They are opening up negotiations 18 months earlier than the exclusive negotiating window in 2024. It is obvious that PAC schools want hard numbers, so the B12 is going to explore it.

espn will try to engineer a partial merger with Pac12 to get late game package and to focus a lot of main big 12 into nontraditional slots such as Thursdays etc.

Chuck Neinas stated he didn't believe there would be any movement of Pac 12 teams to the Big 12 and vice versa. He stated the value of each is pretty much equal which means no incentive to make the move. When the Pac 12/Big 12 merger talks broke down last month several analysts predicated they would eventually return to the table. The Pac got an idea that the money isn't going to be there just like the big 12 will soon find out. Joining forces in some capacity would probably be the best way to squeeze out a few more penny's.

Actually could squeeze out more than pennys... and quite a bit more than a few...according to family source within espn management. ESPN asked for the early discussion not the big 12. Look for some movement to B1g...ok and TX to leave early without penalty among other pieces.

The B12 is going to get nearly double per school than what the PAC is being offered. But it will be double with the escalators and PAC schools included. This will become evident soon.

Actually, it appears that B10, B12, and Fox, are all collaborating to consolidate inventory and tighten control of the marketplace. I believe they are all fed up with ESPN & SEC power moves and are being proactive.

However...a little birdy told me...
While there still is a possibility of a “merger”, I believe it is very small. Yormark is a shark with a very similar background to Warren, so misdirection is part of the playbook, imo. Warren is leaking strategy and potential moves solely for leverage, as I believe the end game is different than it appears. I love the fact Yormark has been basically silent. The B12 is going to come out of this in great shape and eventually WVU is going to have some good regional partners in the B12. It won’t be on this first move but I am confident it will become reality in the next few years. There is no way the ACC members are going to sit back and watch revenue accelerate northward while they are stagnant for over 10 years.

There will be no merger of Big 12 and PAC.

The PAC has tried twice to get Big 12 teams to join their conference and once to merge the together. They failed all 3 times.

Big 12 now making the same attempt at taking PAC 12 schools but the only 2 that will offer a big pay day are Oregon and Washington. If they did go Big 12 how long before Big 10 comes and gets them?

If there was going to be some movement towards the Big 10 it probably would have happened before the new media rights deal was signed. Espn won't be encouraging it now that they don't have a stake in The Big 10.

I could see a 3 to 5 year extension on media rights and ORWA makes the move. I believe that the B10 is feigning interest in them to destabilize the PAC. I think the B10 is going to take Stanford and Cal if they take any other schools from the PAC. They will then hold and wait on the ACC. Just my opinion but it makes sense because they want ND and the Irish couldn’t care less about ORWA.

Moves are being made to position the BIG 12 as a third major conference. Notable that Fox and ESPN are both involved whereas Fox didnt opt to have discussions with the Pac. Yormark also stated there will be a “ digital” component the other day- could be NBCs Peacock since theyve added a little B10 content but would need more major conference inventory still as well. ESPN wants Ut and OU out for the SEC So anything is possible but its very good for the BIG 12.

For the networks- makes alot of sense to have Oregon and Washington in the bigger BIG 12. That way you have more “ brands” in the third conference to justify payouts and playoff inclusion.

Oregon, Washington, Utah, BYU, Ok State, Baylor, TCU, WVU— newer brands UCF and Cincinnati and Houston- sound programs like Texas Tech and ISU already the best basketball conference and you have Kansas there- add in possibly some ACC content once the SEC and B10 are done feasting and its a very solid conference too to bottom

Will Bucky explode when deal back fires?

Will Bucky pitt his pants when OU and Texas are allowed leave next year because a deal was made with ESPN?

It is your guy reporting it. He has ties into the AD at WVU and has been spot on to this point. He called the B12 opening negotiations early with Fox & ESPN a week before it was even reported.
Once again, I will believe it when I see it. I hope it isn't the same guy saying Wvu to the ACC.

Well this is completely wrong.

Reminder that I predicted this part too before you get diarrhea of the mouth again.

Until it happens he isn't wrong and he has more experience than you do with this. Diarrhea of the mouth is the guy who says FSU basketball sucks for being in the sweet 16 in 2021 and finishing ranked 10th, and 14th. Maybe you can chalk it up to dementia.

One good year out of how many over the past...I don't know....50 years?!?
You are a special kind of stupid.

I'm right. It's only when I'll be proven correct, but you'll deflect because that is literally all you can do.

MHV used to be (pre Oliver Luck) pretty well connected on some level. Nowadays for every one thing he gets right, he gets 5 wrong. He used to post here. He left after being repeatedly called out. It sucks because he was a nice guy. He just got a little big headed.

He seems to get the big things right. Most things are fluid and can change fairly quickly, so he appears to be pretty accurate as far as I’m concerned

I did it for you. Since 1956 (first year of program) they have been in the final top 25 a whole 12 times. Their overall record is barely over .500. They have been in 18 total NCAA tournaments....ever.

A blind squirrel will find that nut eventually. Again he's a good guy, just don't bet on his predictions.
