Brady had 12.5 TFL and 7 sacks last season as a freshman. Brantley missed last year due to injury, but in 2014 had 7 TFL and 5 sacks.

...The DL will still feature Charles Harris and Terry Beckner Jr., but this is still a big blow to a team that was going to need its defense to win games this year. The game in Columbia just got a tad bit easier.

been saying for 8 months that the South Carolina & Mizzou teams that UK already beat in 2015 will be worst in 2016. Need to nail down those 2 yet again & finish the deal this season against Vandy.

I have no idea what is going on with Missouri academics and athletics, but every day seems to bring nothing but bad news for them.

I thought we were going to beat them with those guys. Now the chances are even greater.

Winning that Mizzou game is almost a must to avoid another late season slide ... pretty much have to have that one. Guess I'd give still them the edge with Drew Lock being more of a known quantity than Drew Barker and the game in Columbia, but not by much.

That Mizzou-West Virginia opener will be one to watch for UK fans.

That's harsh. Who do you have sympathy for? LV?
Perhaps I was being a little over the top. Actually if they could somehow beat UT, that would be pretty sweet.

On multiple levels Mizzou is reaping what they have sown in capitulating to the capricious demands of the professional grievance industry. That's as far as I will go regarding politics of the situation.

Missouri also lost 4 starting Olinemen to graduation, 2 of which were NFL draft picks. They're going to be in for a long season, unless Drew Lock is sensational.

Hey, it's happened to us for the better part of 50 years. I will take any advantage we can get.

And one of the biggest was the NCAA suspending Jarmon for the entire year (the ideal student athlete, involved in a lot of good things and already graduated), a third round draft pick. I think Peters had a GREAT year his senior year, think of what he could have done if he hadn't been double teamed on almost every play.

I am still waiting for the NCAA's promised reply to my email trying to explain the fact that it was an over the counter drug that DID NOT enhance performance and that it was an honest mistake. Maybe before the ten years are up, but they better hurry. Anxious to see how long my letter to them about the COA will take to get a reply.

I don't think they have the scholarships available to do so, but I could be wrong. I think you will probably see Brady go the JUCO route as he is only a true sophomore. As for Brantley, he's a senior and will probably go to an FCS school.

He could sit this year and get his grades up for next year.

As laxcat said, he redshirted last year (due to injuries from a car accident). Since he is having academic issues, he can't be considered a graduate transfer. If he wants to play, he will have to go to a lower division.

i was confusing the freshman for the one that was academic instead of kicked off the team. i'll assume that guy is back on the team by next week if its not permanent.
