With the break out game vs. Davidson there have been questions popping up as what great players who played his positioned somewhat does he have a good chance to be like. Please give this some thought. OFC

Come on Brady didn't play basketball. He was 5'9" 5'10" at the most. If I remember correctly he played football and was his high schools starting qb. OFC

IIRC.....Brady was starting wideout in high school and got his ribs busted....Mom didnt want him hurt anymore, and he became team photographer.....Basketball, he got beat out for a starting spot by "that creep," Warren Mullaney who dated Marcia...

I actually feel bad for that kid. Honestly , I haven't seen much of 'im but the little I HAVE seen says this guy is a legacy recruit. Dad was a unx athlete , been a fan his entire life yada yada yada. But unx fans are hypin' this poor kid like he's the next Kevin Love. For those who've seen more of the guy , is that realistic? He seems like the kinda player who gets a basket in garbage time to break the Bojangles Barrier and everyone gets a free biscuit the next day...and that's not a bad thing. K and Cal ( and others ) are doing very well recruiting-wise and Roy , presently , ain't. Therefore , unx fans are setting the bar way too high for this kid with unrealistic expectations. Hey , if I'm wrong I'm wrong but in the limited action I've seen , he seems like a hard-workin' guy but worthy of the hype? I dunno.

I beg your pardon hart but remember the episode when the opposing qb used Marcia and stole Greg's playbook. Greg had the chance to really mess things up for the rival school but did the right thing. Greg was the qb in that episode. Now get up there in the vote section and vote. You guys quit trying to high jack this thread. OFC

Didn't Greg take a photo that showed his teammate was inbounds, contrary to the ref's call?

Are you being serious, DJ? Everyone pretty much laughs about him. And Hole fans hype every 3 star they get because that is the majority of what they are getting. Makes them feel better to talk about guys like Maye, Platek, Huffman, etc. as the next "diamond in the rough" that only Roy has the eye to know the truth about. Lol.

One of your best responses EVER my friend! You got me! Yep that guy was trying to put the moves on Marcia and get the playbook! Greg tried to level up w/him, but I think the guy was kind of a jerk- ended up at UNC...

THIS ^^^ is kinda what I was thinkin' I just didn't wanna trash the kid with very little experience seein' 'im. And unx fans are flat-out LYING to themselves if they think Roy knows bupkiss about "diamonds in the rough." He doesn't. "Coaching up" players ain't his strong suit. Dean could do it. K can do it. Roy? If a kid ain't pretty close to a "finished product" when he gets to unx , odds are he won't do much for Roy. Sure , some kids have improved but most don't. Want proof? These are the unranked so-called "diamonds in the rough" Roy's had at unx...

Stillman White

Luke Maye

Kenny Williams

Andrew Platek

Justin Bohlander

Mike Copeland

Damion Grant

Desmond Hubert

Wes Miller

David Noel

Byron Sanders

Jackson Simmons

Nate Britt

Justin Watts

Now , I'm not sure but I believe Roy's never had more than two of these kinda guys on any team he's ever coached at unx. Next season , he'll have FOUR. Let that sink in. A Roy Williams unx team will have four unranked players eating scholarships. Unless he signs a couple of the elites he's still involved with , these kids BETTER be "diamonds in the rough." Of course if he continues to strike out we can all count on Berry and Jackson returning for their senior seasons. That'll help on the court but only further enforces the perception ( reality! ) that Roy is the guy ya play for if ya wanna stay 4 years. That's great for the Plateks and Huffmans of the world but unx ( and unx FANS! ) don't measure themselves against programs stocked with 4-year unranked players. They're not a mid-major. He needs a Jabari or a Brandon or a Jahlil or a Kyrie or two and things would turn around.

Yet the Hole fans always talk about how Roy is a great "developer of talent." Lol. Guess Brice Johnson is who they fall back on for proof of that. I have seen many times over at THR how those guys seemingly brag about what a great developer of big men Roy is. They cannot believe these kids like PJ Washington, Carter, etc. choose to go elsewhere even after seeing what Roy does with "bigs". Ha haaa. So damn delusional.

"Great developer of talent?!" And Johnson is the proof?! Wasn't he a Top 40 kid? That's a pretty good ranking outta high school. Certainly doesn't qualify as a "diamond in the rough." The more REVEALING indicator of Roy's (in)ability to develop talent? Hicks , Berry and Jackson are the highest-rated players in their class to still be in school. In this day and age that's insane. No one...NO ONE...has the sheer number of top-ranked player retention that Roy has. OF COURSE they played in the title game last year! OF COURSE they have a Top 10 team THIS year! No other so-called "blue blood" school can claim that all of their blue-chip recruits are still playing. unx fans can kid themselves all they want. "The scandal has hurt Roy etc." True enough. It has. But mostly? It's ROY and his inability to develop talent ( talent that's already highly-rated , mind you ) that's hurting his recruiting. Either that or he suddenly lost the ability to discern legit talent from over-rated talent. He's had a pretty good eye in the past. Has he lost it? Can't have it both ways. Either these upper-classmen were too hyped to begin with or Roy isn't this "great developer of talent" that unc fans are claiming. Which?

Roy did "squat" for PJ. He shoulda booted Hairston ( and all his Fats Thomas baggage ) the night of that traffic stop in Durham. Instead Roy kept PJ around. Hairston thought he'd play again when Williams knew there was no chance of it. Had he told PJ that the kid was never suiting up again , Hairston bolts immediately. Fine except for one thing...unx's APR was in UConn territory. PJ leaves school and the holes sit out the post-season. Good ol' Roy needed to keep PJ in those academically-challenging classes. Anyway , the only person Roy helped was Roy.

Gosh Big Luke Maye impressed me today. Such a stud. He'll average 17 and 12 by his Junior year.

Did you ever notice Luke Maye runs around on the court like Belushi in Animal House before they take the horse into the Deans office and it dies.
