Right now, kenpom has 12 of the 14 B1G teams ranked in the top 35.

5 Michigan State
7 Ohio State
12 Maryland
17 Purdue
19 Iowa
21 Michigan
22 Wisconsin
27 Illinois
31 Rutgers
32 Indiana
34 Minnesota
35 Penn State
104 Northwestern
131 Nebraska

It's incredible how strong and balanced the league is. For a young NU team, it is a great opportunity to play against a bunch of very good teams...but few, if any, unbeatable, elite teams.

It will be fun to see how the league shakes out and how many B1G teams make the Tournament.

To your point, MSU got thumped by >20 points today by Purdue. And #7 OSU is tied for last in the B1G with NU.

If you try to apply the transitive property to the B1G, your head will explode.

Very true. If we are to apply any predictive tool it should be teams holding serve at home. Not sure how this season compares to historic numbers, but it seems winning on the road is being particularly hard.

Purdue won't be a good barometer for translating its results to other games. They are often extremely offensively challenged while displaying the best D in the league. Makes them prone to blow out Virginia or MSU, but also to loose to Nebby

Big Ten teams are 37-6 at home in conference play this year. Incredible.

Exclude Northwestern, who accounts for a third of the home losses for the entire conference all by itself, and that record becomes an even more impressive 36-4.

That can’t be sustainable, can it?

The current record for highest home win% in the Kenpom era (1997-present) is tied between the 2002 and 2003 seasons where home teams won 71.6% of conference games (63-25). Current win percentage this year is 85.7%...so no, probably not sustainable.

Well Illinois is going to lose at home this weekend. So there's that
Yeah I don’t think Illinois is going to go undefeated at home, but I don’t think the home loss is coming from Northwestern. Unless somehow a lacrosse game breaks out, in which case the Cats have a distinct advantage.
