Yes, I don't post much and certainly am not a huge recruiting follower. I started paying attention to recruiting during the Solich years and a lurker since. Solich was always underwhelming and couldn't close the deal. Definitely a charisma drop-off from the Osborne years. I would have fun at the recruiting dinners every year, but never felt real excitement.
The last time I was confident we had a good recruiting class wasn't during the any of the Riley or Pelini years. I would see the positive comments and would think to myself, Meh, doesn't seem to impressive. The last time we had an exciting class (for me) was 1 year during the Calahan years.
I can finally say I feel we have a strong class again, and I feel that only because we seem to finally have a coach that... 1. Gets it, it all starts up front with the line. 2. Is competing with the big boys despite a 20 year lull in relevancy and the second straight NU losing season. 3. Nabbed Adrian Martinez, next years best B1G quarterback.
Also, remember that when Calahan had a top 5 class, Nebraska was still relevant.
Anyway, just want to put it out there that I like this class. OL concentration, D-line help, Linebacker help. All areas we have been terrible in since the Suh reign ended. This year I found our Line play on both sides and LB play to be severely frustrating. Looking forward to next year, in the 2nd year of a program that will develop talent and where the culture has fully changed.
