Mcpat! I love your polls. Can you do one on the max number of Champs that PSU will have in the same year at nationals before Cael retires as head coach?

With OSU on the ascent I think 6 is aspirational. Maybe this year is the best shot. When you just sit and think about 4 or 5 on one team, it's almost insane. We are spoiled.

In general it does seem like there is more parity at the elite level lately. Mitch and Levi really seem like sure things, but I can still remember when Zain, Nolf and Bo were all next topic guys. I like next topic guys in blue and white, it makes for a more manageable blood pressure level during Nationals.

We have 6-8 finalist level talents for sure, but getting there is no walk in the park. It takes a perfect storm to get more than 3 across the finish line. Heck IMO both Lilledahl and Kasak were the best in the nation but got tripped up but inferior guys.

No such thing as a sure thing, but Mitch and Levi would be top 2. I'd put SVN up there as well.

My take: It seems like there are awfully many guys who are peaking in November. We will see where they all are come March.

I was surprised that I didn’t have as much trouble rooting for Iowa as I thought I would. I guess since they are not remotely close to a credible threat to us at this point it was ok. I was also a little surprised how very easy it was to root against DT and Okie St.
Dude! Ditto.

Mcpat! I love your pole. Please. At best this is too much information. At worst.....kinda gross.

Update: I just found my reading glasses. Never mind :)

Terrific poll choices, but my biggest is the relief to see dark, summer dramas (the “bad boy” stuff) replaced by cool, seasonal ones (which stud will start/redshirt/commit etc.). And after Nate topped Luke, my runner-up would be how the term “embarrassment of riches”, well, . . . doesn’t even come close.

This Penn State team is becoming more and more exciting in ways the mid to late 20 teens teams were. The starrocci & brooks era was dominate and wildly successful but for a couple of years it didn't feel as offensive and exciting but this team seems to have more of that go get it and put up bonus attitude previous iterations have had.Maybe I'm way off base but Its how it feels to me.

I watched DT wrestle here for 5 years with unreal activity and bonus rate, later win world and Olympic gold, and then help develop stars like Levi and Kasak.

But the most amazing thing he’s ever done is get me to root for Iowa vs OkSt.
