WOW!!

Talk about a homer. He also said Wisc. deserved the #1 over Nova.

So Jay's #1's are:
UK
Wisc.
Duke
UVa.

Sounds fine to me. Kentucky avoids Wisc (fwiw) and Nova gets the 2 seed out east (right?). Then Zona the 2 seed out west and UK ends up with someone like Kansas as a 2.

I think it has been made fairly clear that the conference tourny doesnt mean much unless its for teams trying to get in.

No way. They both played into the 2 seed. Wisconsin will get the 1 if they win their conference. Arizona or Gonzaga gets the last 1.

If Duke gets a 1 seed over Wisconsin, Arizona, or Villanova (assuming they win out), there should be an investigation. If they get a 1 seed over Virginia, the same thing stands.

I think UVA keeps their 1 by virtue of winning the ACC. They also didn't have anything close to a bad loss. I think they get sent out west with Zona as their 2.

I would have Nova in the East with Duke as the 2. Wisconsin in the south with Kansas. Give us the Zags.

believe it depends. When you've got so many teams vying for that 1 seed the conference tournaments may be the difference maker.

Am I the only one who doesn't really care about who a 1 seed is and who gets a 2? Looks like it.

Other than caring about who UK's 2 seed is, all I care about is who each team is matched up with as their respective 1 or 2 seed counterpart.

I can't stand Duke. I don't care if they're a 1 or a 2. I care that they have a legit 1 or 2 in their region. I'd rather see them get a 1 seed but have Wisc as their two (would never happen) than to see Duke get a 2 seed with Nova as their 1.

If Wisconsin wins the Big10 they deserve a 1 seed over Duke or UVA. If Arizona wins out they could conceivably sneak in too.

It's going to be close for Duke....they didn't win their league or the tournament BUT they still have the two most impressive wins in college basketball this season: at Virginia, and at Wisconsin on their resume. Arizona, Villanova, nor Wisconsin has a single win even close to that. Not to mention they have secondary wins at Carolina, and at Louisville. It all depends on how much value being a "conference champion" means to the committee. Because if you pars it out individually Duke has better wins than anybody in the country.

I think we won the conference tournament in '11 over Florida but still got a 4 seed. I may be mistaken on all the previous mentioned info.

I always like to listen to Jay Bilas and everything he has to say about NCAA Basketball and he is always saying great things about Coach Cal and Kentucky but I would have to disagree with him on this. I do believe that the Committee will give one of the ACC teams a #1 seed but after what has happened in last couple of weeks and UVA going down to UL at YUM and now losing to UNC in the Tourney and now Duke losing to ND I still believe that UVA gets the #1 seed over DUKE. I see Duke at the 2 seed. Now if Duke would have won tonight vs. ND and then beats UNC tomorrow I would have went with Duke over UVA for #1 seed. I do believe that the Committee will still give the ACC one of #1 seeds.

Normally I would agree and I think Duke is still a 1 seed but Virgina has lost two of their last 3. Arizona and Wisconsin were both ranked higher at the start of the season but were passed up do to Virgina's win streak. They are all equal now but Virgina has lost twice since either of the other two have so I would think they both move ahead of Virgina. jmo

Jay's four #1 seeds represent the four top teams in the country.

Not sure if I have a problem with those four gaining #1 seeds. Villanova is nothing to write home about as far as #1 seeds are concerned.

It's going to be interesting and a bit controversial either way the committee goes on that IMO. Duke is better than UVA, beat them head to head, has a win over another one seed in Wisconsin, win at UL, win at UNC, win at home against UNC, win at home against ND by 30, etc. UVA played a much weaker ACC schedule and was fortunate to not play Duke in Durham or they probably would not have been regular season champs.

THAT SAID, UVA did win the conference regular season by ONE game...so I suppose the committee could go with UVA due to that. That is really their only trump card over Duke. I'm not buying that as enough, but I do not think anyone can take issue if the committee values that over everything listed above for Duke. And to be fair to UVA, they have some good wins as well...at ND, at UNC, UL, VCU when they were better, at Maryland (Dez Wells did NOT play though), etc.

Once again, no win situation for the committee IMO. As long as Nova wins tomorrow over Xavier (they should) and Wisconsin beats Purdue (they should) and then the survivor of Maryland/Michigan State (they should) then I think it is pretty clear UK, Nova and Wisconsin are 1 seeds, with the final spot coming to the ACC team of the committee's choice.

Both ACC teams resumes destroy Arizona's (losses to 3 NIT/CBI teams, in a pedestrian 3 bid Pac 12 league) and Gonzaga's (They have 0 percent chance with no really good wins to brag about). People on here can think what they want, but the committee is not going to make one of those west coast teams a 1 seed just on geography. Gonzaga does not deserve to stay out west, but Arizona clearly does. And Arizona being a 2 seed does not screw up fairly balances 1/2 lines as much, while putting them as a 1 seed would cause a massive chain reaction of BS and unfair brackets to the non-west regions as you would basically be rewarding cupcake Gonzaga as they would be the ONLY beneficiary of Arizona getting the last 1 seed.

Not sure if I feel UVA is a better team than Arizona, but otherwise I agree.

So, according to Jay, both Virginia and Duke lose AND they bump Villanova off the top line? Yea, OK.
