I agree and there is a great deal of difference between recruiting and developing players at a flag-ship school where the "name" does half of the recruiting for you.
I also judge "rags to riches" coaches by what happens when the coach is NOT on the sidelines, and KSU (in their history without Coach Snyder on board in his two HC tenures) was one of the very worst performers across all conferences....across all eras.....the real-life version of the South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs.
Bill Snyder is a great coach....one of the best in my lifetime, and he is also the type of coach to whom I would entrust the welfare of a youngster. A recent ESPN article gives a little more context about Coach Snyder--linked.
