Anyone catch the Gtown Oregon game? Is he on drugs or losing his wits? Those are the two choices.

Man I just got finished watching that- first of all epic meltdown by gtown. Secondly Walton is off his rocker even for him, all I could do was laugh.
Yea I was watching it. Walton is always off his rocker. Lol! He's fun to listen commentate games.
Like I said. I like him. He's funny and tells some great stories. Great ball player also. I guess I'm one of the few who got to see him play. He had one of the greatest games ever in a championship game. He was just about perfect. Most fundamentally sound players I ever saw and argumentatively the most fundamentally big man ever. I wish he had some good knees. He used to block a shot, catch it and throw the outlet pass for a fast break all in the same motion. No blocking the ball out of bounds. Kept it in play. Not many could or can do that. With that said I was pulling big time for NCSU when they played for the title and remember very well David Thompson blocking Walton's shot. There is a pic of it floating around. It's amazing because Walton is pretty high up in the pic also. OFC
Compared to some he's a breath of fresh air. I'd take him over bias doing our games for sure! Or Len or Billy Packer or Clark Kellog the worst of all time
Could you imagine what Dave Pasch feels 99% of the time when he calls games with Walton? He's definitely off his rocker and it's hilarious!
I love watching the late West Coast games when Walton does them, for about 20 minutes. I don't know if I could take it as a steady diet though. The purist in me says eventually I want to hear something other than Grateful Dead stories. I think he's too aware of the Walton Bingo that's all over the internet. If you haven't seen that then google it.
He's hilarious to listen too. That paired with him wearing the sunglasses while calling the game was fantastic.
It was getting sad in the second half when he couldn't remember anyone's name. He said something about TJ Leaf at one point (who plays for UCLA) instead of LJ Peak. The guy is entertaining as heck, but he wasn't really commenting on the game. He just threw out criticisms of everything, the refs, the style of play, the strategy. To be fair, Georgetown is horribly coached and they only know how to attack one on one. I doubt their assist totals are very impressive.
I told my dad yesterday that he is the most annoying announcer EVER......talks about everything BUT the game.....and he could always do it better than the kid on the floor.
Yes he was a great player before injuries but he is the most annoying announcer i've ever listened too and that includes Dickie V

Maybe that's the only way to make a Pac-12 game entertaining?
Wish Walton did some Duke games. Can we trade Len Elmore for him??? That should be 6-7 games a year.
Too bad Dwayne Benjamin isn't still playing for Oregon. If you all remember, just about everyone time Benjamin touched the ball, Walton called him, "Snoop Dogg." That seriously never got old. I watch Pac-12 games just to listen to Bill go off tangent on randomly wild subjects. Here are some of his memorable lines from last night:

I love Walton. He has such joy and passion for the game - even if he gets carried away and a little crazy.
He was insane as a player. I was also fortunate to watch a ton of his games in his three year career at UCLA. His turn around bank shot was unstoppable. Especially the game against Larry Kenon and Memphis St. - when he went 21-22 from the field. Few players use the board on bank shots any more. Walton was a master at it. I'd put Kareem and Walton 1-2 all time in CBB. No doubt about it.

YES PLEASE! Len Elmore is the absolute worst if you're a Duke fan. I don't think he's ever said a positive thing about us.
I love Bill Walton. He has personality and a working brain outside of the sport he commentates.

I've long wondered about this and flipping back and forth during the gtown Oregon game made me think that some of the Acid trapped in Waltons spinal cord from his time at ucla is starting to seep out and have am affect on him.
It doesn't matter if he wonders every now and then . It adds to the broadcast and sets him apart. I used to listen to Bill White and Phil Rizzuto do Yankee games. Rizzuto was all over the place. It was great when he went into some of those stories. I often wonder what kind of color man Yogi would have made. Some here may be old enough to remember Pee Wee Reese and Dizzy Dean do the major league baseball game of the week. OIe Dizz did the color and he really made those broadcast fun with his sense of humor and being who he was. OFC
Listening to him call the Oregon/Uconn game now and he's killing me. He just goes so off topic and his partner has no clue what to say when he does.
