I think I am going to finally pull the trigger (pun intended) and purchase my first handgun. I'm not going to go all in and purchase a $500 one for my first one. I found this deal at Academy Sports and will probably go line up in the morning to purchase it.

I had a gun shop owner recommend the Taurus to me for a good budget first time handgun buy. I could get it for $219 at his shop in solid black, but of course you usually have to pay more for a different color of the same gun. What's cool is you get a 2nd gun included for $70 more than that gun shop bought one.

The other will be good to teach my 16 year old son how to handle it. A .22 is way easier to learn with. I shot a lot with a Ruger 10/22 in the past. It would be fun shooting something designed off of some old cowboy type gun. Makes me want to get a lever action rifle next.

My local Wal-Mart opened at 6 PM tonight. Parking lot was jammed full; four police cars parked along the front of the store; police in uniform inside the store. Lots of people buying lots of stuff.

I bought two Ring wifi from Bestbuy online last night for $99 each, regularly $179.

Purchased PS4 for $199. Stream on an older tv I have and prob buy new NBA game since so many UK players. I have a PS3 now and still occasionally play football and golf.

Same here. I didn't go in, just drove by. It's the only time I have ever seen it with every single parking spot full and cars still circling looking to park. I can't imagine what it was like inside. They probably had to open up a third check out line.

That's cool. I'm thinking of buying a sawed-off pistol gripped uzi for my 12 yr old. Want to teach her how to use it. I can buy it for $300 and I get a 1000 rounds for $100 more.

Teaching a child how to be responsible with a weapon falls squarely on their dad.

Sorry but teaching a child how to be responsible with a weapon falls squarely on their own dad.

By the way, I just got back with the newest additions to the family. Going to be hard to wait until after Christmas to hit up the shooting range. This deal was a big hit at the Academy Sports I went to. There was already probably 50-75 people in line and more waiting in their cars at 4:30 this morning. I figured I missed out with so many people already there. Fortunately, they probably had over a 100 of the gun packages.

Took like 2 hours to wait in line, do the background check, and then pay for the guns. The ATF's system was probably being overloaded with hundreds of stores running checks all at once. I think there was still some available after I left if anyone in the Louisville area wants to check it out at the Jefferson Mall location.

I already have enough TV's and other crap so only thing I bought today was also a gun. Found a good deal from a place in Mizzou. Also bought a bunch of ammo.

Nothing brings the Christmas spirit quite like discounted weaponry.

Is she your girlfriend or daughter? Clear this up for me before I lay the title Judge on ya.

Went to the Academy location at Jefferson Commons at 1p today and made this purchase and out the door in less than 45 minutes. They had a stack of them available when I left.

Hey. Kids like sports games and need a new console. XBox1 or PS4?

They all look the same to me.

I say Xbox One. The multiplayer is much better and I think the controller is better as well. There is a monthly fee for Xbox Live, but it is worth it for the better multiplayer experience in my opinion. You also get 4 free games each month for that fee. They are either older games or games from smaller developers. You definitely get some good ones mixed in there.

You can get by without the Xbox Live service but they can't play against/with anyone online without it and no free games. I've owned every PlayStation except the current one and also every Xbox except the brand new One X. I think Xbox is better, but you might want a certain system due to the exclusives they offer. That is something you might want to research before purchasing.
