Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin injured his right hand after hitting a member of the team's equipment staff during an argument, multiple sources told ESPN's Michael Eaves.

According to the sources, Griffin and the equipment staffer got into an argument in a restaurant during the team's trip to Toronto. Griffin hit the man, who then left the restaurant and went outside. Griffin followed him outside and hit him again.

Griffin suffered a suspected fracture in his right hand in the incident, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne early Tuesday morning.

The equipment staffer's face was injured and he was treated at a local hospital, sources told Eaves. Both Griffin and the equipment staffer were sent home after the incident.

Sources told ESPN that the hand injury is expected to keep Griffin out "a matter of weeks, as opposed to days."

Not a "thug". He took the staffer outside before hitting him. That's a "gentleman".

A "thug" would have nailed the staffer inside the restaurant.

Did Success Spoil Blake Griffin? Apparently So!

He grew up in the same block as a Good Friend of mine...Here is his older bro', Taylor, teaching him the Facts of Their Lives...

I believe if you re-read the article, it states that he hit him inside the restaurant. The "victim" then left the restaurant, Blake followed him outside, and then Blake hit him again.
So, not just a reactionary punch, but also a chase-you-down-and-have-time-to-think-about-it punch.

What the hell could the equipment manager have done that got Blake so fired up? Used the wrong fabric softener on his towels? Didn't have the shoes he wanted to wear that night in his locker? Didn't have the balls inflated properly? Or was it a personal matter between the two? Something about this story is a bit sketchy.

Maybe he tried to take a picture of Blake with his teammates...

I just read where there was a "ball-busting relationship" between Blake and the equipment manager. The back-and-forth between the two escalated while they were in the restaurant, where Blake punched the other guy and they decided to "step outside" to finish it off. The article did not say if the equipment manager was fired, but both seemed to be at fault in this instance.

I've known a couple of guys like this, who like to give others a hard time because they consider it "joking around." I learned early on to steer clear of those kinds of guys because it almost always gets personal, so it's better to avoid them instead of trading punches.

Still..I doubt the other guy was his size. If he is?...he should be playing TE in the NFL.

Possible reasons Blake punched Eq Mgr:
  1. Eq Mgr was underinflating the game balls
  2. Eq Mgr was overinflating the game balls
  3. Eq Mgr was questioning if Blake had game balls
  4. Eq Mgr was trying to examine Blake's game balls
  5. Eq Mgr was envious of Blake's game balls
  6. Eq Mgr's game balls weren't as big as he thought they were
Discuss among yourselves...

I was gonna say the EM put hot balm in Blakes jock but, no one could be that stupid.
Or could they?

I dunno. I've told you all before I grew up a swimmer. Well, that's not much of an age-related sport... not for training purposes at least, so teammates came in all shapes and sizes. I had that one, special (mentally and emotionally), friend on the team that used to take crap from everyone especially the seniors that were 4 years older and about twice our size at the time.... much like one of us would be to Blake. There was one senior that was absolutely brutal towards him; slapping him around, always messing with his stuff, embarrassing him in front of the team, etc. My friend snapped. The senior left his locker unlocked after practice one day while he was showering with all the guys - communal showers in speedos (yeah, bad image but reality). My friend did the aforementioned, he lined this guy's underwear with Icy Hot, but he took it one step further. He grabbed the rest of his clothes, marched to the showers, and through them all right in, right in front of the guy and the rest of the team, turned, and bolted. This wasn't a giggling pre-planned event either with much thought and planning. This was a total, he snapped, I asked wtf he was doing, no communication, just that blank, dark stare.

Yeah, I know the feeling oh too well.
I was in the band, so I had a target on my back.
I got expelled four times as a sophomore for retaliating against the upperclassmen that would pull that crap.
Everyone has a breaking point.
The only upside to this tale is I learned how to fight pretty good. Once you get over the fear of fighting, it becomes more of natural thang.

In all candor, I did get my *** kicked off a few times, just to be clear about it.:D

Jcon I have a friend at work and her son last year was having trouble with another classmate. One day when the boy left the bball locker room he pee'd in his shoe ha-ha. He got suspended for a week. The boy stopped messing with him after that
