I think part of the back story was, they gave Jimo some shorts and shirts, and they let him coach their summer camp. I think Jimo thought he was going to be the next asst coach at UM.

Well, that may be the case, but I think it had more to do with the QB coaching, or lack thereof, at PSU. Michigan had Scott Loeffler as their QB coach and he had a good reputation.

I have no problem with Cantafio on the Henne matter. I do have a problem with a player that doesn't have the guts to tell our coaches that he was flipping to UM. Up until signing day they had assurances that he was coming to Penn State.

I don’t think that is exactly how it happened. Yes, many thought Henne would come to PSU, but he verbally committed to Michigan in August 2003 according to multiple sources. National Signing Day was in February 2004. PSU had six months to find a replacement QB recruit, which ended up being Anthony Morelli.

As a player, I never needed nor took well to “speeches” like this. I actually find them de-motivating.

Henne never gave a verbal commitment to PSU, silent or any other kind for that matter. That's an Urban Legend that has been told around PSU boards for years.

Jimo first job was as asst coach at my HS. We r about the same age. I use to hang out w my old coaches in the summer so I got to know Jimo a little
From that I conclude it had nothing to do with Scott Loeffler. Chad already had the best QB coaching he could have

I think it had less to do with Loeffler and more to do with Jay and the PSU offense.
