According to my game watch bud, the UNI Prof, the Title of the thread cannot happen. Joe would have to be elected to the job (or some such)

If you could select anyone to replace Stoops, who would you select?
To be honest, I don't think anyone could do any better than who ended up getting the job...Lincoln Riley!! Ya he is young and inexperienced. But he is a hot-commodity, upcoming coach that appears to have a stellar coaching career ahead of him.

Some will say they wanted Saban or Meyer. I don't agree. Those guys are already established and aren't going anywhere. OU needed to make another hire like JoeC did in 1999 with Bob Stoops. Bob was the same hot-commodity and upcoming coach.

Now the Lincoln's story needs to play out just like Bob's did starting in 1999. And Lincoln is taking over a program loaded with talent and primed to make a run. Bob came in to a program in shambles.

So Lincoln has a heck of an opportunity to become one of the most elite coaches in the country at one of the most elite football programs in the country!!
