June 1 is the deadline to withdraw from the draft. The combine is in mid-May.Does anyone know how long it will be until the BBall draft process playes out and Buie and Audige will be able to make a decision about their futures?
Thank you!June 1 is the deadline to withdraw from the draft. The combine is in mid-May.
The only reason to doubt is a lifetime of evidence that NUBB can't have nice things.242 players have declared for the draft. Our guys' chances: slim to none. The deadline to enter the portal is May 11. Unless CA and/or BB jumps into the portal late...is there any reason to doubt the likelihood that both will be back?
It seems to me that the recent additions to the team are so complimentary to CA and BB's game that they will likely be back.242 players have declared for the draft. Our guys' chances: slim to none. Yes. There is always that. The only reason to doubt is a lifetime of evidence that NUBB can't have nice things.
CA could make a roster as a UDFA or even second rounder if he can improve his 3 point shooting enough. Here's hoping these two have unfinished business at NU. It's way exciting to think NU might get them back and many will be hoping and hoping for it until the decisions are made. Let it happen.
IMO, both could improve their pro opportunities by playing another year at NU. CA in particular needs to sharpen his shooting. BB would likely look a level better surrounded by more experienced players.
This is incorrect. NBA athletes are otherworldly.CA could make a roster as a UDFA or even second rounder if he can improve his 3 point shooting enough.
BB in a similar position based on 3 point shooting
Watching the NBA playoffs, Boo and Chase both need to get much better shooting the three to get consideration. The three point accuracy of these guys is amazing.
... and where better to do that than Evanston???They'd also need to get better shooting the two, Audige especially.
What I don’t understand 100% is whether Boo and Chase would technically have to withdraw from the draft at all. Both have technically used up their eligibility so would automatically be eligible for the draft (I think), but could use their “free year” from the COVID season.
Anyone hear more familiar with the vagaries of the rules around declaring for the draft while maintaining college eligibility? Maybe there’s a date by which they must formally withdraw from the draft to preserve their NCAA eligibility or something like that?
Based on this seemingly legitimate memo posted online, a player does need to withdraw from the draft in order to return to college (bullet #8).

The NBA combine is in mid May, so I imagine we'll hear about a number of guys pulling out of the draft shortly after. There ya go. Guess we will know by June 1.
I disagree. Neither is an NBA prospect.Except maybe to fill out a G league roster- like Scotty Lindsey has been doing. And if NU acts like a real “ Power 6” school they could make more in NIL money at NU than in the G league or overseas, IMHO.CA could make a roster as a UDFA or even second rounder if he can improve his 3 point shooting enough.

Can they play in the Combine, and then withdraw from the draft? The NBA combine is in mid May, so I imagine we'll hear about a number of guys pulling out of the draft shortly after.
I think both these guys have families and kids. So if nil provides decent pay without moving them, offers pay grad education (made intern at sports agency, tv, etc), then why not?I disagree. My concern is whether or not they have had enough of college life. They will both be 24 this year.
Yes. Must withdraw by June 1st.Can they play in the Combine, and then withdraw from the draft?

I always assumed Lou had a direct line to that bigtime Pat Ryan money! The $ is/will be there. Without getting into specifics, I can tell you their compensation exceeds Lou’s salary as publisher of Wildcat Report. Big bucks.
We joke about this from time to time but I sure hope Lou gets something decent for his effort. I've been a paying member of the Rock for well over 10 years (Can't actually remember) and I can't think of one time when any of us knuckleheads has disrespected him or had anything but praise for the job he does and that is saying a lot when you consider how often we voice our disappointment in things and how nit picky we can be.The $ is/will be there.
