Boo the Players, not Cal.

Pope could have made the ones like Big Z so much better and in him I was very disappointed. UK, not Cal gave him the ability to play.. He plays one game at UK and become world famous. He goes to Arkansas and disappears. He needs to be booed off the floor.

You never boo our former players especially in their first return to Rupp.
Only exception would be if one acts like a jackass on the court.
Hopefully we have the game in hand but I wouldn't mind seeing Adou, DJ or Z get a nice ovation from the crowd if they are subbed out at the end.

You so funny. Big Z left because his coach did. He had no ties to UK. I don’t understand Adou as he left right after the tourney, but ended up following his anyway. DJ is Cal’s boy. It was rumored he was going elsewhere but he followed Cal. Why be mad at them?

I’m not even mad at Cal. He freed us of that stupid contract and basketball is exciting again. I hope they lose every game, but I love my CMP and glad that other guy and his team are no longer in Lexington.

This is a really bad take. Remember when Cal came here, he took all his recruits from Memphis with him. That’s just the way it is.
No reason to boo these 3 dudes.

Now, for booing Cal. I personally wouldn’t do it if I was at the game but I don’t blame people for doing it. Saturday needs to be an electric atmosphere. The current UK roster is going to feed off the crowd so if booing Cal does it, by all means boo him out of the building.

I don’t understand the sentiment of not booing Calipari. There were a lot of people booing him at our home games while he was OUR coach the last few years.

Then he leaves our program bare without any players nor coaches in mid April. Now he is coming in to Rupp trying to beat our team. Screw him!

Horrible take . Bass ackwards ! He would have played more than “ 1 game “ at Ky if not for a coach willing to sabotage winning for personal interest … boo the basketball Bennie when he enters , while he’s there , and as his sorry *** leaves the building .

Do not boo the former UK players.
We don’t even know if Pope wanted them back.

Mainly big Z left because of Chuck Martin and his relationship with Z’s handlers.

Do you think the players don’t regret following Calipari? They went from being adored by 20, 000 + at every game , to a place where are second to last and fans are not as involved. Wagner and Thiero followed Calipari because he is like an uncle to them since their dads played for Cal. Big Z I don’t think was giving a choice by the handlers.
The recruits of course follow the coach that recruited them .

Our women team coach did the same . He pretty much emptied Va tech when he came over.

Most were happy Cal left which would translate to him doing BBN a favor... I wouldn't boo. Time heals all wounds though. There was a time when I never thought Pitino would be welcomed in Rupp... I was wrong on that one. Coach Pope has it right one day Cal will also receive a warm welcome.

Boo the players??? WTF? Why would we do that?

Did we ever even boo Joakim Noah? why would we boo Big Z, Wagner, Adou, or any of the freshmen? Because they followed the coach that is willing to sacrifice wins for their benefit and piss off an entire fanbase? No.

Man, delete this thread.

You don’t boo any of them

He brought us back.

The last few years sucked.

He saw it and did us a huge favor - could’ve been like stoops and bled Every cent of his contract.

Scorned lovers trash their exes. Those who end up better off and improve their lives do not. Which are you?

Ivisic is simply not a good player. He had that one good first game, but did essentially nothing after. Frankly, I got tired of watching him get abused defensively. He is a guy with great size and a decent shot, it’s a shame that he never developed into a good player.

Did anyone else see how booing a former player worked out for us? We got beat like a rented mule and Bradshaw had his best game ever. I'm never taking out any anger against former players. It really is irks me how BBN did for Big Z for him to just ditch us but I blame whomever is calling things for him. Wagner took enough backlash from our fans last year. Never could I imagine booing them.

I also wouldn't boo Cal. He said he already thinks he'll get boo'ed. Pope said we shouldn't do it. Man this is Kentucky, we should show class.

I agree. He has the physical tools but lacks it between the ears and under his chest. His brother plays way smarter and way harder than he does.

I'm not a Cal fan. But he ran a clean ship, and it was a memorable time, for good and bad. I don't believe he should be booed, and BBN should take the high road.

Former players? It depends on the circumstances of their departure. I wouldn't boo the Arkansas players, but I sure as hell ain't cheering for a guy that left how they did. Those are Cal players, not Kentucky basketball players. Turn coats. No boos, but good riddance.

Boo Mark Stoops, who will keep on drinking and playing cards and taking his big check and putting out a bad team and not go anywhere. I'm not gonna boo Cal who did us the solid to leave and let us get Pope. He brought a lot of great players here, had a great run his first 8 years.

I spent several thousand hard earned dollars traveling to tournament games these past few years supporting the CATS only to hear Triple C say he didn’t like playing in the SEC tournament and suffering first round losses to terrible teams. I wouldn’t boo a former UK player but Triple C can rot as far as I’m concerned. To each his own.

Or, how about we don't boo either. If you must boo save it for the corrupt *** SEC refs.

Booing gives motivation. Cheering them might soften their resolve at bit. maybe.

Silence, on the other hand, will get into their heads far more than booing or cheering.
