Any good book recommendations? I've got a lot of great books from posts on here. I just started Power of the Dog and have The Cartel after I finish it.

I just read Seinfeldia which was a good book if you are a Seinfeld fan.

Books I have read recently that are definitely worth a read is:

Mr Nice
Where Nobody Knows Your Name...Life in the Minor Leagues
Tyson...Undisputed Truth
El Sicario
Flashboys
Straight to Hell...awesome read

You're in for a treat. Great books.

If that's a subject matter that interests you, read El Narco after you finish those.

I've read that book. Excellent read. I've also read

Down By The River
Murder City
Killing Pablo
I obviously like this subject.

Another great read is Inside Delta Force. Loved it.

Got this one for Christmas and have read half of it:
"Barbarian Days, A Surfing Life"
Won a Pulitzer for autobiography. I'm not a surfer, but it's mostly understandable. Terrific!

Back to the OP, I WILL NOT be reading A Clash of Crowns, just finished GOT, and after 800 pages which took me almost two months, was pretty much "meh", then I find out that the 2nd of FIVE in the series is even longer . . . . no thanks, think I would prefer a root canal.

The sad and tragic life of Robert Peace is incredible
Really is. He's about the same age as me so heart breaking yet relevant to my timeline.

Devil in the White City takes about 150 pages to heat up but after that it's good.

If you haven't read Boys in the Boat, do so. One of my favorites in the past few years.

If you like history. One Summer by Bryson is fantastic.

I'm being stubborn with The Great Bridge but it's dragging and I'm losing interest. Might need to move on.

Finished Ready Player One in three days. Starts off with WAY too much exposition that almost kills it, and probably will kill it for you if you don't care about 80's nostalgia or video games, but once you get past that the plot starts to reel you in.

If you like history, check out Bill O'Reillys The Killing series books.

Don't give a crap if you are for either party, it's history.
Technically its not. Making up **** isnt history. But I get it, you believe it is.

Given your political point of view I get it. But he's a former history teacher and apparently people out there that don't care about politics rave about these books.

If I wanted to read made up **** I'd read MSM.

Given my political view? No, this isnt about politics dumbo, its about history and actual scholarship. I get it takes 5 seconds to actually look up he's full of **** on these, but it takes 5 seconds. All his "facts" are in dispute, he doesnt apply the actual historical rigor of scholarship that historians use. What you fail to grasp, it isnt about politics (I love Ben Shapiro because he uses facts), its about facts. And you are the gullible sheep that believe any thing you read.
