Boston offered Hornets six picks to move up to #9 to draft Winslow

Ironic that Jordan and Winslow are in the same topic of conversation. I really feel if he keeps his head on straight Winslow has the talent to fall somewhere in between Jordan and Harden in his impact on the NBA making everyone who did not take him kicking themselves in the teeth. If I was a GM Winslow would be at the top of my draft board, no other has as much upside for rare difference making talent.

Has anybody investigated whether Jordan actually went to class at UNC? A UNC education might not quite measure up to Duke's, but Jordan acts like a guy who took 4th grade more than once.

I'm curious what position Winslow ends up playing. I saw Bilas ranked him as a SG. If Winslow can make that transition, I think he's a perennial all star.

As per Coach K, he is the next DWade...I feel he has the potential to be better since dwade got unlucky with knee injuries early in his career and will hopefully be learning from him from the beginning of his career.

I'm sick of the whole hornets mess. How many years in a row have they drafted the same player and haven't learned yet. I honestly hope he wasn't dumb enough to pass on Winslow just because he's from duke

Winslow would've been perfect in Boston but Miami is a good situation if Wade and Dragic return. Important playoff minutes year one would be valuable

Jordan needs to sale the team, will never be a contender as long as he keeps making picks.

I get bagging on Jordan...he certainly has not had success. I'm not sure why we are acting that we already know Frank will fail though.

I do think the Hornets made a mistake not adjusting to the draft...rumor was they locked onto Kaminsky and if they moved off #9 the Heat had apparently targeted Frank too so they wouldn't have gotten him.

Zeller...Vonleh and Kaminsky are very different outside of position. They obviously feel a big need is at PF.

A majority of draft picks fail...it is a staggering number. Frank did lead the country in PER last year and stretch 4s are all the rage right now

Him going to Duke had nothing to do with them passing on him. They were split 50/50 on who to take between Winslow and Frank. They already had a Winslow type player in MKG and they needed a young big that can score since they will lose Jefferson next summer.

and this is completely untrue. The Celtics offered a good deal but never 6 picks.

I don't know. Where did you see that. I've seen the 6 picks widely-reported and have not seen anything that would come close to a believable disavowal of it. With that said, not all six picks are created equal -- and I think that's where the offer may not have been as good as the title would suggest. If you're talking about a bunch of 2nd rounders and a few first rounders that are years down the road and nowhere near as high within the first round (beyond the Celtics #16 pick this year) -- then that offer's not very enticing.

While I agree that Winslow to Hornets didn't make sense b/c of MKG and Batum, the legitimate criticism IMO is the Hornet's inability to repackage Winslow's availability at 9 to secure more asserts. Kaminsky will be a nice, but not great pro --- and there's just no way he has enough upside to justify not collecting some assets for the 9 spot once Winslow tumbled. With guys like Booker, Lyles, Dekker and Turner still available + the possibility that Kaminsky would still be available in the 13-14 range -- I would have tried to trade down in exchange from some additional picks / assets. The Hornets completely wasted a gift that fell into their laps -- and that's why they're the hornets.

Once the dust settles I think Tokoto will be one of the top 50 NBA players of all-time. He is the second coming of Dr. J All the Sixer's need to do is insert him in the lineup. Will make Okafor a better player by just being on the court. OFC

Whether it was true or not ESPN and other outlets reported it. 6 picks with 4 of those potentially being first rounders.

They need a lot. I'm not sold on Walker as PG either. He's hit some big shots in games I've watched but is a bit of a ball hog also. Although they don't have much anyone else who could light it up.
