Perhaps PSU's running game issues aren't related to personnel (coaches or players) but the scheme/philosophy.🤷‍♂️

One thing I really noticed about that game was that in spite of all the talk about how college football players had packed it in and these bowls weren't even worth playing, those two teams went hard at each other. That game was physical. I liked that.

Hardest hitting Bowl game so far , solid tackling.

This game is an example of what should be done if possible= take a big conference team from a state and match it with a team from that state that holds a grudge and wants respect. Don’t know how many of those matchups could be found.

Wouldn’t that be the coaches? Just sayin
It’s always the coaches. You know coaches miss critical FGs; give up game losing 47 yard TD to a TE on a simple crossing pattern thrown 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage; give up a game losing TD on 3rd and 15; offensive linemen who never move anyone off the line of scrimmage on running plays; highly rated RBs who look like they are running in mud and never show any burst threw what holes there are which I see RBs on other teams do every week; etc etc

Did you even bother to watch the clip?? Did you see the result?? They roll the D out of there. Why?? They had 2 double teams at the hole!!! When was the last time you saw a push like that at PSU?? You don’t see it because they don’t do it. The reason they don’t do it is on the coaches

You said the scheme. Don’t the coaches come up with the scheme. Of course it is on the coaches. The offensive line has been terrible for years. It isnt the players after so many years.

Its never the coaches. The coaches aren’t responsible for the poor talent at certain roster spots; it’s up to the players, not the coaches, to develop the talent; the coaches don’t come up with poor blitzing schemes; the coaches don’t ignore their best player when selecting plays in OT; players should know proper tackling technique before arriving at PSU, and you can’t expect coaches to waste valuable practice time explaining that it is legal — nay, even advisable — to use your arms when attempting a tackle; the coaches don’t commit ridiculous personal foul penalties game after game after game, and there is NOTHING coaches can do to correct that (or any other) problem; the coaches don’t come up with an offensive playbook based on handing the ball (or not) to a stationary running back five yards behind the line of scrimmage, when their (not correctable/improvable) OL can’t sustain blocks long enough for said running back to actually reach the line of scrimmage.

I can only assume you blame your peewee league players for all that goes wrong in the games you coach, and you and your coaching fraternity can circle the wagons and rely upon “execution” as your “it wasn’t my fault, it was theirs” mantra.
