In Joe's latest bracket some key things to note.

15-11 UNC has finally made Lunardi's First Four Out.
15-10 Arkansas is one of his last 4 in
17-8 Vandy (11) is 1 seed worse than 15-10 WVU (10)
19-6 Missouri is the same seed as 17-9 Kansas
After Duke the next highest seeded ACC team is Clemson (6) and Louisville (7)
UConn is all the way down to an 8 seed with the greatest coach in the game

Really gotta find a way to win tonight. We got a few gifts last night.

Texas Tech lost, giving us some cushion in front of them.
A&M lost. They're probably still about a game in front of us. But the gap to the 2 line has closed. They may even fall off of the 2 line in favor of Iowa State (who is healthy now).
Biggest of all, Purdue lost a 2nd straight game. I think for now, we jump them.

We're the 2nd or 3rd #3 seed now, IMO. I don't think a loss to Alabama drops us off the 3 line. And other teams around us tough games as well.

i really want to stay on the 3 line.
but being with our remaining schedule and arguably our best 2 players out and our starting pf basically out. it is gonna be tough

We really need to beat OU tonight. They aren't that good. A loss Saturday vs. Auburn would not hurt, but one tonight will against the Sooners and we may lose the 3 seed.

I think we beat Auburn by 5-8 points on Saturday. But gotta win tonight!

If we lose tonight, I think we can fully expect to forget about a three seed. Think Pope knows that and that’s why we are hearing probable on essential pieces

Committee always values your last 10 games going into the tourney. We may be a 4 seed looking at a 5 if we can’t string together wins. Just my opinion might be totally wrong.

Normally 11 losses would not, but this is not a normal year in the SEC. Just about every single game is a Quad 1 Game. It's unreal. We honestly haven't had a "Bad loss" since losing by 20 to Ohio State & South Carolina. Our wins against #3 Florida, #5 Tennessee (2), #2 Duke, #24 Mississippi State, #19 Louisville are very good. The Win against Gonzaga isn't looking so hot now.

A win over Auburn on Saturday would probably lock our #3 Seed IMO if we take care of business tonight and don't lose to LSU on Tuesday.

Considering we are a three right now with 9 losses, I think it is fair to say your opinion doesn’t hold up to facts. If this team does the following:

@ OU - W
vs AUB - L
vs LSU - W
@ MIZZ - W

SECTR2 vs MSST - W
SECTQF vs AUB - W
SECTSF vs ALA - L

That would be an insane resume with 11 losses and might end up a 2 seed instead of a three based on quality wins and SOS and metrics. If you don’t like having 11 losses, I don’t either but this is a unique situation.

I still think we have GOT to be a 3 seed if Tennessee gets a 2 seed. At worst a 4 seed. Win, and it'll take care of itself, as it should be. I think we end up a 3 seed, just like I did in the pre-season, which was very optimistic , to my thought process, considering everything this year. Especially how difficult the SEC is this year.

Looking at all the other teams in the mix, and there really is a lot of jockeying in position that can go on across the country, in so many ways....

I am in the camp that is thinking maybe *just maybe* we really can IMPROVE from a 3 seed, of which, there seems to be little to no talk about us moving UPWARDS in the seeding process, but rather, keep from slipping backwards. In my mind, we're closer to moving UP than down from a 3 at this very moment.

another loss for Kentucky - period - and anyone could make a case that we could be seeded 3 or even lower than a three, especially if more than one loss is incurred. Win out ? The unlikely case would almost assuredly keep us a 3 seed no matter the results in the SEC tournament - UNLESS we were to WIN THAT TOO...

Food for thought ....

Win out and win the SEC tournament ? Hmmm .... definitely a 2 seed. Makes the SEC look that much stronger and I would make the case at that point to have 14 SEC teams make it into the tournament.
