Wouldn't be surprised if Brea becomes a difference in a strong end of season finish for Cats. He is better in my opinion at decision making during game than Robinson was and can be a better defender.
Let’s hope so but his defense I would not count on. I wouldn’t mind him launching 10 3’s a game though. I like how he’s actually scored inside recently too.

Maybe, **just maybe** it can be addition by subtraction here .....

The sum of the parts (players) coming in to take up the total absence of Robinson for the remainder of the year might be a catalyst for something greater.

I don't see why it couldn't be, and you would for sure **think** "how could Kentucky be any BETTER without Jax than with ? ... AND THE ANSWER WOULD BE - WE'RE NOT.

But let's all try to fit and work within the system and do what EACH ONE of us does best, and it doesn't necessarily have to be BREA > Robinson, but TEAM > Robinson.

Chandler has come in and looked for his shot, no hesitation. Hit two threes.
Almonor has hit a 3
Brea has a 3
Garrison staying active with 8

we're shooting it like 59% from the field, and we're leading LSU 50-23 at half.

Hopefully we can continue and take it onward. Even without Robinson, which sucks.

Win it for JAX !

Go Big Blue !

That’s what I’m hoping for. A lineup where everyone knows what is needed and plays like it now. They know a savior is not coming and they have to bring it. I like what I’m seeing so far.

If Brea is hot then I agree he can fill that Robinson role on a postseason run. Just need him hot and we can beat anyone. Robinson is obviously a massive loss but some heroic efforts from others can fill that void.

Robinson is a better defensive by every statistical measurement.

Robinson is the more complete scorer and shoots above 40% from 3 as well so he isn’t giving up a huge drop off compared to Breas biggest strength.

Robinson has significantly better handles and mid range game/creatability

With all that said….Jax isn’t combining back and Brea will be absolutely key going forward. It’s good to see him adding a little more diversity to his game and getting some shots at the rim. His defense has slightly improved the last few games as well

Did he say defense!šŸ˜‚ Brea is definitely not a defensive specialist! I’ve never saw him block anyone out for a rebound! When he’s hitting shots he looks good!

Jrob can kind of get his shot almost anywhere, when healthy. Him and Oweh were the only 3 level scorers and Brea is NOT that.

What we WILL benefit from is what they said on the broadcast: we don't have to worry about Jrob going forward and can focus on preparing with put him. No will they, won't they. It stinks, but it's kind of nice to now know.

On top of that, we won't have to find out if an 80% Jrob is good for us or bad. Because healthy. I like Jrob.. but injured, you can make the argument that other players might be less of a liability, and that includes Brea.

Tbh Brea is not a all star defensively by any means but I feel his numbers there get a worse rap than it actually is ...Koby has had some absolute slop 10% probability shots where he's all over the guy put right in his face nothing but nylon. Some of those you just have to laugh about.

Or cry 😭

Good post. If you watch games and know what to look for Brea is most of the time in the right place, gives help and isn't lazy. Robinson at times was a little lost in positioning and his intensity level when he wasn't making shots was lacking at times

Of Brea is hot and can hot 4 or 5 threes than the difference isn't as massive. Defensively Brea needs to lock in and give effort the whole time he is out there. He can defend well when he wants too.
