No, not unless he was granted some sort of waiver by the NCAA, which isn't going to happen.

The 2017 secondary might be the best UK has ever had. A junior westry junior Edwards junior baity and this guy. Wow.

Why was he kicked off UM's team?
From the article, doesn't appear that he was. He was "granted" a release, which implies that he asked to leave, as opposed to being tossed. Now, if he was tossed, then I don't know if we would want him, but there's a team west on I-64 that would be an appropriate landing spot.

Hopefully he lasts a bit longer than Marcelys Jones did. Can only think about how much better our oline would be if Jones had worked out.

Other articles say he was kicked off and there have been rumors of him being in Harbaugh's doghouse for a little while now.

Well, without 100% confirmation, it shouldn't be fair to assume the worst just because the kid is leaving Michigan (especially when PTI reported that Harbaugh is pulling the scholarships of a number of freshmen from this past year).

I am not assuming anything.

He burned his opportunity there due to a chronic habit of missing classes and being late for team meetings.
He wasn't arrested so that's a plus. If he is in good academic standing then take him. If he blows this chance then we lose nothing. If he turns it around then we get a top notch athlete with the potential to be a major contributor for 3 years.

He looks like he would be one heckuva addition to the team from a talent standpoint....a 5.9 rated 4 star with 4.5 speed and a very good offer list. I say bring him aboard as long as his grades are in order. He wouldn't be the first frosh to miss some classes or be late to practice, nor will he be the last. Hopefully as he matures he'll grow more responsible. But it doesn't sound like he has any major character issues that would cause me to shy away from giving the kid a second chance.

Harbaugh appears to be managing his roster like an NFL roster. Essentially cutting guys and pulling offers to make room for guys he thinks are more talented. Doesn't mean this kid isn't talented. He had a couple strikes, freshman, more of a Hoke recruit, basically a low hanging fruit. This is me assuming of course. His film is great though and he could be a big time player for us in a couple years.

According to his rivals page he was an early enrollee so I'm doubting grades will be a problem. Dummies don't graduate early. If all he had against him were missing classes and meetings I'd say he's worth the chance. Hope it works out.

He committed under Hoke I think. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery? Harbaugh is known as a tough coach to get along with it.

Too late to transfer for spring semester. Right? So he finishes a semester at UM and comes in the summer?

Looks like a solid pick up if we can get him here. Walk him to class seems easy to me. Glad he didn't shoot, stab or beat his girl friend. I've always said that non violent offenders are welcome.

Totally agree. He didn't do anything criminal.

Do transfers now count towards the 25 LOI total? I'm thinking that UK claimed that Laster, Love & Hart counted towards the 25 limit last year. Does anybody know for sure?

As I remember it, UK listed them as part of last years class. Don't think they ever said they counted against the 25 LOI limit. They don't sign LOIs, don't count. Also don't count against the NCAA initial counter limit. Do count against the 85 player limit even during the year they have to sit out.

If they are on scholarship, which I assume Cole will be.
Michigan has an odd academic calendar - their classes end mid-April.
My only concern is if his injury is more severe than let on, and that is the reason he was "waived" by Harbaugh.

How much better will it be if Wills indeed signs up? Rated a lot higher and haven't heard of any issues.

And yes, we need wins this year in order to continue maintaining momentum.

Thanks! That is exactly the way that I had understood it until right before last signing day. Obviously I misunderstood something that UK said last year.

sounds like it was pot. he apparently was given a few chances and his last test was it. um fans can be bitter but they seemed pretty sure he was cut for pot test.

We don't know if that is factual. But if it is the truth, I don't think we will see him at Kentucky.

If it's pot, then I suspect he would be at Louisville instead of Kentucky depending on the quality of stuff he can bring to Pitino's child hooker parties

If it's some "not getting along with Harbaugh" stuff, then I TOTALLY get that

What is the status of Cole? When will we know where he goes?

He's going to take a visit to Kentucky soon.

Sounds like you're pulling this out of your arse, because I doubt you've heard anything from somebody in that program.
