Just noticed he dropped to 8th best coach in Big12 in latest rankings I just saw on CBS Sports. Last year he was 7th. Interesting but how is he rated behind Les Miles? He recruits better than him and beat him. Talkin heads are literally morons. Guys on here that post using these guys as their source are worse. And we know who is the king of that haha.

Les Miles is goofy, but did win a national championship. If he gets putrid Kansas to a bowl game, then they'll erect a statue of him in Lawrence.

Florida State game is going to set a tone.

Neal Brown should have a skeleton offense he likes to run.
Even then I don't think what Parker is bringing in is much different than what Neal Brown wants to do.

Florida State on the other hand...no spring camp.
They are going to be a weird team early because you think they would want to dramatically change what they do but how much of that is actually in place...

Even with WVU brining in a new OC you still have Neal Brown and want he wants him team to look like.

So WVU is going to most likely have more of their playbook available.
I expect a 21-17 game. Florida St's OL might be even worse than WVUs

IF West Virginia beats Florida State then they can get to 6-6 and a miracle win elsewhere up to 7-5.

How they start the season. Looked like they ended last year as a competitive team.
Regarding Florida State. I wouldn't doubt them. A big play on defense can change that game
Neal Brown has to punch them in the mouth. The physicality with big balls you need by showing you are there to win.
Florida State may not be able to match it

Right now (IMO)

FSU - L
Eastern Kentucky - W
Maryland - W
Kansas State - W
Texas Tech -L (this game should be a win every year but I think this one will be the loss we should win game)
TCU - W
Texas - L
Kansas - W
OU - L
Okie St. - W (game we should lose but win)
Baylor - W
ISU - L

7-5 (can easily be 5-7)

Neal Brown needs some time.

The finished product is what matters. WVU wants to have the opportunity to compete for a conference championship.

Don't think it will be this year but you never know.
Baylor went through an average 2018 season but turned it around quickly.
Mainly you saw how the players talked before the season. They were talking about playing for a Big 12 Championship.

More interested what the players are saying in August.

Neal Brown should be able to get to that level. Matters on how dominant the offense can be producing points but also being able to control the flow of the game.
Either keeping pace or creating distance

Those last three games should determine a lot going into next year
Oklahoma State could be a Top 5 level team.
They have the ability to score and even to a Heisman Trophy QB level

Oklahoma State always chokes during the season. It has cost them Big 12 title every year.

Hopefully it is against West VA

I just don't see how they can hold Oklahoma State to under 30 and I don't think there is a enough explosion in the offense yet to play a 41-38 game.
There is always the chance. Doege comes to play. There is WR talent. Just need a huge step by the OL.

That's what everybody said when we played Baylor and K. State on the road.

I told you Kansas State didn't have the athletes and were beatable
Their success was based on their OLine pushing around the smaller DLine at OU.
Against the other solid Big 12 teams they struggled.

Baylor is a game I am worried about...

Matt Rhule played you very conservative because he didn't think you could move the ball well enough.
Just his NFL mentality.

Even then Baylor had 250 more yards than West VA
Like I said before that game wasn't as close as the score.

The reason I am worried is because teams didn't feel the need to stretch WVU at times.

Was not like playing a Big 12 game.

Even then WVU has players up front to cause havoc and force the QB into not being able to exploit the secondary

That is just hard when you have a mobile QB.

We will see because we don't know truthfully where anyone is at.
Like to start hearing where some of these programs are mentally

There are some things with K State to like but...
Kliemann fitting in at WVU. Coaches have to fit the school.

Dumbass used K State to go after Neal Brown.
Was funny when they lost

Neal Brown fits WVU.

But
K State's DB coach from last year and new DC is one to watch though.
Might be one of the best defensive minds in the game.

Watch what they did with Jabril Cox.
He ended up grad transferring to LSU from NDSU.

Last year at K State they didn't even have the LBs to completely play their scheme and held teams to 25% conversion on third down.

One of the coaches who are proving that the LB position isn't extinct

Here is him 2 years ago

Bringing up Patterson...

You see why OL protection and a vertical passing game is so important

Have to attack both downfield

WVU has the QB and WRs do so.
Interested to see what Parker brings

You have FSU & Maryland wrong. We will beat FSU, and lose to Maryland badly... Maryland has been quitely building up a team with deep talent... They have a much faster team then we have, and always seem to play much better the first few games of the year...

The remaining picks are all logical..

WVU could go into Lubbock 4-0.

Texas Tech is another team I don't have a handle on like WVU.
I don't know have a baseline to judge how development is going.

But I think those first 4 games all are winnable.
Florida State is interesting. They have some internal issues. But luckily they are a newer school. Even with that they share a campus pretty much with a HBCU. Marvin Wilson has already spoke out.
