Condones the last play on last second steal.

I didn't see it officer

The melee, Nothing to see here, Nobody really did anything moving on....

In this corner....

De Sousa will find out what a chair is used for...sitting not swinging. He is gone for the year.

What KSU did was frowned upon, but it wasn't illegal or dirty. Just like fouling when the game is out of hand or calling timeout in football when it still won't keep the opposing team from running out the clock. Kansas swatting the ball was also a legal play and appropriate response. The thug like standing over the player is where Kansas went over the line and rightly got a technical foul. Why it warranted a brawl, we may never know. But sounds like Gordon and de Sousa bear the brunt of the responsibility and they should receive the lion's share of the punishment.

Fights happen in sports. Punish them appropriately.

Lets just not act as civilization is coming to an end.

I have always wondered why in sports you can punch someone and it not be a criminal charge....its not like laws cease to exist when a game starts.

If a fan goes and the court and hits a player, they get charged.

While I don’t watch basketball but 2 weekends a year, I will say Thank the Lotd WVU was not involved in this game! I mean espn and every media would be calling Huggins and his players “Outlaw Thugs!” Thank the Lord we’re not involved. I remember the bad pub for a shove after a TX Tech court storming.

As for repercussions from this and what the Kansas player did, Wichita State will be in major trouble over this. I’m sure big guy from Kansas will face internal punishment from Bill Self and maybe a small fine from his weekly paycheck.

I think the standing over the guy after the block is taunting in football and a penalty. I’ve always wondered Why not for basketball?

The taunting is grounds for a technical and it was called. It was also unnecessary and stupid as the authoritative rejection of the potential stat padding layup pretty much put the KSU freshman in his place. Let your play do the talking, because that rejection said more than any false bravado that could be done after the play. If de Sousa would have just walked off the court after swatting that weak crap like it was no big deal, it would have said what he intended with the taunting better than anything. As to what escalated to an actual brawl from there, I couldn't see it on the video I saw. But the whole thing would've been prevented if de Sousa would have acted like the badass he wants to be precieved as.

Why is the red shirt player from KSU even out there trying to duke it out? Should KU be put on probation for their actions? Is this how they will cover up the money scandal? Telling KU they will be out for this season with no tournament consideration and multiple suspensions. de Sousa should be booted at first light this morning.

Sad thing is this could have all been avoided if egos had not gotten in the way.

Whatever happened to “play till the clock reads 0:00”

I don’t fault the KSU player at all.

Depends on the situation. What he did is akin to say a football coach being down 17 with less than a minute left taking all 3 of his timeouts to force extra kneel downs to run out the clock. It's not showing grit, perseverance or a "no give up attitude." Its being kind of a douche. Doesn't warrant a fight for sure, but the KU player hustling back down the floor to swat that lay up attempt with authority was. Should've ended with de Sousa walking off like it wasn't a big deal and just brushing off the KSU player. No brawl while both commanding respect for de Sousa and shaming Gordon with being dismissed like an annoying fly rather than adversary worthy of taunting.

What good would have come from it. Would it have won the game? No. Was his feelings hurt? yes. They just got their asses kicked and wanted to be stat padding.

They didnt do anything wrong. At all. Any of them. ESPN will tell you its ALL kansas. Kstate wasnt even ther . A common technical, that was called, then kansas players, on the court in kstate uniforms apparently stormed after him throwing punches, then the other kansas players, sitting on state's bench some in purple, some In street clothes stormed the court because of a non physical technical and attacked pushing and throwing punches, making it 13 against 1, so the OTHER Kansas players on the kansas bench came out to defend their guy. So clearly it was ALL Kansas, I mean how dare they taunt after a blocked shot and FORCE all that to happen, LUCKILY, ESPN can read the kids mind and know not what he did which was nothing, but what his real intentions were and wanted to do. Thank God for an even unbiased group like espn. Every technical for looking at somebody definitely deserves an all out brawl, no doubt.

One of their own, but a minority so maybe he doesnt get in trouble even called them out today. Its WAY overblow, nowhere near as bad as many others including Cincinnati/Xavier, but " people" and he was talking about espn, keep over blowing it I. Exaggerating, acting like only one team is involved because they want the ncaa to swoop in and demolish Kansas and cripple the big 12. Dead on accurate.
