I don't know if you all realize it but so far Jimmy Brumbaugh has been perfect in developing JUCO players and sending them to the NFL. CJ Johnson is with the Falcons, Za'Darius Smith was drafted by the Ravens, Melvin Lewis is the the NY Giants and one of the Giants publications listed Lewis as one to watch.....

One caveat, CJ Johnson and Melvin Lewis hasn't made the final game roster as of yet. However both teams like there respective player.

On the current roster is Courtney Miggins and there is no reason to believe that he won't eventually get at least as far as Johnson and Lewis has thus far. In fact the only player with a serious question of if they ever will sniff an NFL team is Alvonte Bell, and even he has 2 more years.

If anyone ever questions if Brumbaugh can develop talent, its an easy yes.... If you include all players then you can say he has 4 players in the NFL over a 3 year span, 2 drafted and 2 free agent players.... (includes Bud Dupree, really don't think Farrington Huguenin will make the roster). I think when its all said and done we'll add Courtney Miggins to this list.

I think the biggest problems with DLine has been the bad luck in recruiting and players leaving.

2017 James Hudson decommit, however we we have plenty of time to replace him....
2016 Kobe Smith spurned us for South Carolina in the end.
2015 Davon Hamilton spurned UK for Ohio State in the end.
2015 Darius Fullwood spurned UK for Virginia Tech
2015 Jason Strowbridge spurned UK for North Carolina.
2015 Javon Provitt never made it to campus

Then add the fact that Lloyd Tubman is gone, Jason Hatcher is gone, and now Regie Meant is gone.

I think Bell will eventually be a solid player, even if he does not reach those other levels. Pringle might be headed for a RS? Have not heard much about him since spring. If so, he could be solid for his last two years. Especially if conditioning is the key.

The guy has taken more unheralded (in terms of ranking) recruits than anyone else on this coaching staff and turned them into pretty decent performers. I certainly can't think of another position coach on this staff who has been able to do as much as Brumbaugh has with so many 2 star recruits.

With even modest success, UK will have to fend off other programs for Brumbaugh's services at season's end. He'll be this year's Ansley.

Hmm i thought he was supposed to be coaching a very talented group of guys. He might not of recruited most of em but he has had some talent to work with. These are lineman and ends.

Matt Elam 5.6 3 star
Lloyd Tubman 5.6
Adrian Middleton 5.6
Denzel Ware 5.6
Tymere Dubose 5.6

2015 class

Alvonte Bell 5.6
Kengra Daniel 5.6
Jovon Provitt 5.5
Courney Miggins 5.3. 2star

2016

Kordell Looney 5.6
Jaylin Bannerman 5.6
TJ Carter 5.4
Naquiz Pringle 5.4
JaQuize Cross 5.3

Some guys were rated higher on other sites like Elam who was a 5 star Tubman a 4 star etc for example. Some were not evalated and some ranked lower due to grades. Example Pringle who hails from south carolina was at one time while in HS was the second ranked DT in south carolina and had offers from SC, Clemson etc. So its not like he is some chump. And a lot of these guys while lower rated had offers from big name schools as well like Carter had Miss St offer him as well.
But the majority of these 2 stars are going to be in their first year here. But you can see the recruiting sliding if you go by star rankings but they are not the end all to evalation.
