I have far more confidence that the Cats can pull out a win against PSU or Illinois than the Buckeyes. They have been on a tear late season and clearly not slowing down in the first game of the BTT.

Thornton and Sensibaugh are two impressive Freshmen, but McNeill (a transfer, I believe) made the difference in that game (made some big shots against us on January 1 too). You just have to wonder how that team could lose 14 out of 15 games, but it shows you how tough the BIG really is.

Not really a tear. They won 2 of their last 3 prior to BTT. Nevertheless, I respect their athleticism. They definitely pantsed us early in the year

Buckeyes are one of the teams that make Rutgers, PSU, or Michigan, as well as several in other conferences, nervous.

Bid stealers, shrinking the size of the bubble, they are fun! Well, unless we are on the bubble, of course.

Outside the P6, the Mountain West has the potential of having one, if like Utah State wins it. Maybe the A10 if VCU does not win.

Had great seats up close for OSU at IU in late-January. They are an impressive bunch of well put together (physically) athletes, but seemed pretty unconnected on the offensive end. Everyone seemed to want their own shots. Seems Holtman’s job might be safe for one more season with their play in the last few weeks.

They had an underachieving season given their athleticism. If they can put it together, they are dangerous to any team in the B1G.

Who actually wins the B1G for the year? The team that won the season or the team that wins the tournament, unless the same team wins both?

Well, that was helpful.
I've mostly heard people talk about the regular season Champs as... the regular season Champs, and the BTT Champs as... the BTT Champs. Not sure which is "official". So, yes.

Tournament champ gets the NCAA auto bid.

Exactly right - they are a very dangerous team right now that probably no other B1G coach wants to play. I read on the Iowa board that OSU actually started 4 true freshman - Sensabaugh, Okpara, Gayle, and Thornton - and all of them are just starting to understand CB and coming into their own. That is a very athletic team

OSU will very likely play Purdue, so we will see how good they are.

Iowa going down likely means they cannot jump us in seeding for the NCAAs so that is a good thing, right?

Exactly. And I think we are probably set on which teams are getting in from the conference now, as Michigan is out and Wisconsin looks out too. Meanwhile, Rutgers and Penn State now appear to be on more solid ground. I suppose Ohio State or Minnesota can still steal a bid too. The only school that's DEFINITELY out is Nebraska.

Wrong bracket. THey play MSU so they have to get through that first and PU has to get through Rutgers who beat them earlier
OSU will beat MSU, and Purdue will beat Rutgers. That's when OSU will have their shot at Purdue.

The regular season B1G champ does not get an automatic NCAA bid, but it is absolutely inconceivable that any team that finished atop the B1G standings would not be good enough to get an at-large bid if they lost in the conference tournament.
