BBN brothas - I'll be attending the Bucknell game on Saturday with my 5 year old son - for his birthday present - and it'll be his first experience at Rupp. We'll be traveling from about 6.5 hours away, so obviously want to make this as special as possible.

I've attended several games at Rupp over the years, but never once thought about it from a child's perspective. So with that said, what do I need to make sure I do/go/visit while in Lexington with my almost-6 year old? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Stay late if Pope is going to talk with the crowd, meander down where they are and try to get autographs from players and such. What about birthday lunch/dinner before the game? Malibu Jacks maybe.

I went to a game last year and got there early, and the blue coats let us go down to the court to watch warm ups. Our seats were up top but it was nice to be down on the court and close to the players.

Did you just approach one of the Blue Coats and ask if it was ok? And how early are you talking? Thanks!

Eat at the game around 10-15 minutes before tipoff. If you're lucky, you could be on the jumbotron while taking food out your mouth. Either he will love it, or be traumatized.

It was probably about an hour before tip off. My dad and I hadn’t been to Rupp in awhile, so we wanted to show up early and walk around. We peaked down at the court and one of the blue coats said we could go down and watch warm ups, just be back up afterwards. I’m sure if you have your son with you and ask, they’ll let you down with no issue.
