Since their season is basically over, one more bump and a final round of laughs at the Hoosiers expense, more FORTY YEARS without a championship - even in the B10 conference tourney - one trip past the Sweet 16 since 1993, and barring an unfair miraculous selection on Sunday, 12 years without an NCAA tournament appeance in the past 17 years.

How is that possible? This is like the 30th time they haven’t even won a game in the B1G tourney lmfao. Yet another choke job to not make the dance. Idk how they do it.7 straight IU losses to Northwestern.
That is crazy. Every time I Feel bad about our program, they make me feel a tad bit better. We need to change direction quick so we don’t sink to that level though.
It really is crazy. The wildest stat for me is they've only been past the S16 one time since 1993 as @MdWIldcat55 said. And that was a fluke run in 2002 to the FF. Calbert Cheney is not walking through that door.
The IU twitterverse is already wanting to fire Defries in the bag. Can't say I blame them.
Starting with our 9 win season (2020-21), we have only missed the tournament one time. Unfortunately, we lost 2 first round games during that time. IU, on the other hand, has only made the tournament two times during that span.
The really bad news is that we have won 3 tournament games in that span while they have won 2, if you count the First Four as a tournament win. We need to improve on that!
Watching ole Kent on the verge of tears brings me such joy.

Good question. I was specifically responding to a post about our "recent" performance and how much we have allowed IU to close the gap recently. Since everyone on this board uses that season as the beginning of our fall from the top, I used that as my starting point. I just wanted to see how accurate the other post was.
And for the record, I completely disagree with our own fans who try to say that we have become IU. But yeah, we have slipped as Wiseserpent said in the post I responded to.

Now that their season is over, and it is guaranteed that they hit the 40 year mark without winning even a conference tournament, jut a quick round-up of program highlights:
* Missed the NCAA tournament 12 times in last 18 years -- eight out of last ten years.
* No NCAA tournament title in what will be 40 years by the time they are next eligible to participate.
* Never won the Big Ten Conference tournament IN HISTORY -- almost 30 years.
* Only one fluke appearance past the Sweet 16 since 1993 - 33 years!
* Overall record in the Big Ten post-season tournament of 17 - 28. Most common outcome by far is a first round loss.
I could go on, but those examples of horrific ineptitude make the point, I suppose.

You could think of the dumbest possible opinion imaginable and you'll be able to find at least one or two people online who will believe it.
With that said, I haven't personally seen anyone on here "celebrating" that we're a 7 seed.
The most generous thing I can say about it is that it's not quite the disaster some people make it out to be, but it's well below what our standard should be.
