Board of trustees must fire this grossly negligent and incompetent shill for breaching his fiduciary responsibilities to the basketball program and school. In fact, if Trustees don’t do it, then they collectively and individually should be sued for same. The UK alumni association should led this effort through civil action now.

How much money has this clown cost the school over his tenure with buyouts? Stoops alone is 38 million. BCG, Joker, Gary Henderson, Elzy. And lucky he got bailed out by Arkansas or we would've had to pay Cal about 40 million this past year. How bad is he at his job? And don't bring up nonrevenue sports because very few people care. Now we hear he is going to be an advisor for Eli C. after he retires for $800k/year? UK admin is full of corruption and needs to be dismantled. The shape of our football and basketball programs would've gotten most AD's fired a long time ago. Instead this clown is going to get a cushy retirement gig milking more money from a state university.

How do we ask when? This thread needs to be pinned because he’s been sucking since the beginning. When Barney came bb went to crap. 3 tournament misses a losing season. These are the product of this defunct athletic director. I’m surprised bbn was bamboozeled for so long. When a guy from Kansas and a guy from Alabama take the reins of our school they don’t care about UK winning the way a life long fan does. We absolutlely need Kentucky guys and no guys like Marc hill who has been Barney’s right hand man for 20 years no that dude is another transplant. We have alot of talent that is from Kentucky. We have a lot of talent that went to UK. When it’s time to fill these spots Kentucky needs to hire people with Kentucky roots. That however does not extend to coaches. You want state or UK guys running the school and athletics so we know we are being represented. Uk went to these clowns who don’t have blue blood and they have decided fans will be happy with what they get and winning is not a priority. We need that state pride running the school and athletics. We don’t need state pride running our athletics programs unless it is a proven winner. When we had cm Newton we didn’t have to worry about a bad hire in bb. I think in nil cm would bring in a good fb coach. As soon as that was given up our bb tradition started going to crap. This Barney/eli leadership hold has ruined Uk sports. Winning is like 10th on their to do list. Make money is number 1. Well a baboon could make money in this era where UK apparel is everywhere. Where ticket prices. All the baboon would have to do is bring in winning coaches. That makes money on its own. Barney came into the era with $$$$ when he came into. Money money everywhere every big school.

Been bumpin this harder than my side piece since 2005. I’m on 20 years of wanting this guy out of here. My father always said the day he was brought in and Kentucky men were moved out was the worse day here even over probationary periods. This guy is here to keep status quo and get cash for those projects, not to win at an elite level. We don’t have an AD who’s advocating for sports he’s a hatchet man who’s in this for the powers that be to keep Kentucky clean of press and never be involved again. We either need a Kentucky man in that seat or a man who understands the job as it should be. He’s the worst AD here of all time, even over days we got in some trouble. Those men were trying to win and they built this place. This guy is paid to do the opposite.

under his watch when he’s got his way

0 final fours 0 national titles 0 SEC title since 2005 - 0 January bowl games

Get that man out of that seat. No other AD in this conference would have survived this.

I think the requirement of bringing a “Kentucky” guy in just because he’s a Kentucky guy would be a tremendous mistake. Im not saying that’s what you meant but some do feel that way. I want a guy who wants to absolutely kick the ever living snot out of anyone that gets in our way. A guy/gal who absolutely wants to dominate in every facet of the word and doesn’t have ties to the good ole boy network that covers for their friends etc. Hopefully the boosters will demand that.

I’m good with avoiding people with state ties intentionally both in recruiting and administration. It becomes a conflict of interest. Also, no Pearl since people will say his religious views got him in (Judaism). Just hire people who think we are descendants of fish and have nothing to do with Kentucky so that fans won’t be complaining either way. We will be able to keep our boos directed toward the play only.

This thread should have been started the day he made Joker Phillips "coach in waiting." Or hired Billy Clyde Gillispie to coach the basketball team. Or mishandled the last four years of Tubby's tenure. Or gave a checked-out John Calapari a lifetime contract with a buyout the size of the GDP. Or gave Mark Stoops a lifetime contract with a buyout the size of the GDP right after he was forced to forfeit a season for cheating. Or hired a basketball coach who had never won an NCAA tournament game....

But better late than never. Good riddance to Mediocre Mitch. He can't be gone soon enough.

I think it has to be someone that understands Kentucky. That’s what I mean by a Kentucky guy. The problem with UK’s administration is the president is an Alabama grad. Barnhart is a Kansas guy who went college in Kansas and Ohio. These are not Kentucky men they don’t care about this the way you should.

That’s my wish, is that we had a man connected to UK in here whether he went here or not isn’t the concern. But you need to understand and be familiar with the programs here and you need to be concerned with dominating UK athletics.

Kansas / Ohio / Alabama men running the Kentucky men’s basketball program is a mistake. They don’t care about it.

I don’t care who it is, but I don’t see a Californian or an Alabaman giving a damn about Kentucky sports.

Agree. I just want someone who understands UK basketball needs to put the proverbial fear in others and that UK needs to be a heck of a lot more competitive in football. Dont really care how many track stars they have. That is just icing on the cake.

No other team in the SEC would have allowed the malpractice that has taken place over MBs tenure. Let's not forget he gave away another couple million for Tubby's "loyalty bonus" as he ran away from the disfunctional mess that Mitch created. And while he sanctimoniously lectures us about how well all of the "non-revenue" sports have improved we shouldn't forget out this.

Mitch needs fired and Dan issel needs to straighten this mess up for Ky
I’d take that sht tomorrow. We’ve got foreigners everywhere inside of our athletics and this is why it’s happening in the first place. Think an UofAlabama president gives a man about basketball? Let alone KENTUCKY basketball? He looks lost and confused everytime he realizes we actually care lol. Just watch the old goof.

A litany of terrible hires and worse contracts in revenue sports, decades worth of nil setback and revenue loss from alcohol.

Any of those alone would be worthy of termination. But just sliding right through the swim coach sex abuse scandal during the #metoo movement is really something to behold.

Not only did he slide through, it all just disappeared from the media. That's untouchable level stuff right there. Pretty crazy.

I went to UK grad - that counts 🤷‍♂️

trust me y’all want me to be AD. I’d kill it. I’m dead serious too. That’s why I won’t be the AD.

And I don’t hang the Memphis degree. I won’t put it up. So I don’t claim it you shouldn’t do me like that honestly.
