He's a big upgrade over Meyers. I always felt like he was a weak link. He's been blown up many times over the past two years. Bunchy is so big and strong it will be hard to overpower him.

I've been really impressed with his play at guard. He is driving people down field and he has a mean streak.

If Drake can takes Toth's place at C, then our line will be set with starters and backups for next season as well.

Except Bunchy will be the C next year.

Yes he has. I hadn't really heard of him before this season

I agree...Stallings is a bit more mobile and able to move better than Ramsey Meyers. I have to concede...Schlarmans' group is much improved. Development of Nick Haynes has been solid. Meadows is stable at tackle this year. Then the depth of Stenberg, Stallings, etc.. THe OL looks bright for year to come.

Our o-line has developed really well this year. Schlarman deserves credit for finally getting them to play well.

How much credit goes to having a competent oc?

No matter, schlarman deserves credit. We've run the ball against defenses stacked to stop it.

We had more rushing yards against Bama than Arkansas. And ran all over an impressive vandy d

That and all these recruits are year older. We unfortunately had a false start with so many 2014 recruits leaving. But now we either have less recruited men in their fourth and fifth year, or talented kids with a year or two experience and growth.

I hope Wills sees the improved play with the OL when Gran started working with them. Gran has been a huge help with the guys and the OL coach himself taking some pointers. Guy has been around good teams his whole life and knows what lineman need to do to open holes and protect a QB.

I recall watching his high school video and thought then that he had good potential and a real mean streak. I like him a lot at guard or center. Go Cats!!

Stallings has been a nice addition to the O Line,we seem to have enough depth to be able to keep reasonably fresh folks in the game. I think it helped Saturday that we were able to keep the ball as long as we did,Vandy's front 7 aren't all that bad.

True and I've been impressed with Stenburg too. Plus Young's development and Meadows is coming along nicely. The reliable Nick Haynes deserves props. All in all the OL is making progress...but many challenges lie ahead.

I credit Schlarman also, but I also credit Benny. First back we've had that runs as hard as the OL has to work to block. The OL has something to work for now & they're enthused. Have to throw RB coach Gran in that mix also.

Seriously, is there anything in FB that pumps the adrenaline more than seeing a RB churning his legs while dragging a pile of D people down the field with the OL pushing from behind? Not for me.

Going forward we have some interesting depth questions at the offensive line. We have Bunchy who is getting some very valuable experience at guard and is showing a pretty solid ability at the position. He is doing such a fine job that he's gone from being about 3rd on the depth chart to now starting over both George AA & Meyers. So, you could leave the guards the same and just bump Drake Jackson to center and then have Stallings back him up and have George/Meyers as the backup guard. The other option is to have Stallings playing center and George/Meyers at right guard and Jackson backing up Stallings. The second seems like the most logical, but it really depends on how we can get the best linemen on the field at the same time. If it is going to be Stallings starting at center next year then I would like to see Toth taking a break on a drive or two in some of our games and have Stallings take the snaps so that way we have all of next year's starters on the line for a drive or two and they can kind of get a little in-game experience with one another. This doesn't have to be in every game, but would definitely be good to see it in the Austin Peay game.

Pretty sure Bunchy will be the C next year. Could also play Jackson at OG which is probably his natural position. GAA is currently backing Meadows at RT most of the time. I really like how they're using 2 OLs. Leavitt will figure in next year somewhere, probably at OG and they're really high on Fortner. Ramsey Meyers could be the odd man out.

Yea, it is just an interesting battle there on the right side. You also have to wonder what will happen at LT. Mosier came back from injury and took over for Young this week and apparently did just fine. However, Vandy doesn't have the speed rush of a team like Florida or Tennessee. So, will UK stick with Young/Mosier and who backs up who over there? Meadows is at RT and is doing a pretty solid job and getting better, but he doesn't really have a true OT backup. George AA could stay there, but you also have Leavitt that could play a factor in there somewhere. Bunchy can play two different positions, and Jackson likely could as well.

It is a pretty good problem to have that we have some good depth at the OL and almost all of it is pretty much returning talent, or guys that have redshirted.

Agree on Fortner. He could be the starter at C.
