But wait there`s more - Molson Coors is sponsoring Denver Pride Parade this weekend. So if you switched from Bud Light to any of their products,

It’s so dang stupid!! Here’s your business model; “I sell my good/services to people who have money. Period.” There’s the only qualifier needed ; they have the money to purchase. None of the rest of the crap matters.

Are you sure they don't just sponsor the site and someone else booked the mentally ill parade?

And those people spend money with suppliers they support, who treat them with respect. If a supplier chooses to cater to the 7% market, their expectations should represent this decision.
Businesses should make business decisions based on staying in business and nothing else.

Companies are waging a war right now; how do we exploit social consciousness without alienating our base customer? It’s the ultimate narcissism to think you can pander to everyone without consequences. Somewhere in the bowels of the marketing dept., sits an analyst with an algorithm, trying to squeeze those tiny marginalized groups for profit. Greed.

So you’re OK with calling groups of white people rednecks?

Is it OK with you for groups of blacks to be referred to by the n word?
See which one gets you banned first. White liberal got is a strong thing and weak people enjoy it for some reason.

I wonder if there's some solidarity going on among the beer companies, even though they are competitors. None of them has jumped in to go for the jugular with Bud Light, though it's been there for the taking. They've all just kept doing their usual thing. I really expected one of them to come in with some marketing to try and target that Bud Light demographic.

But nobody did. I saw yesterday that Yuengling is sponsoring or supporting in some way a drag show festival. Now Molson Coors is sponsoring this pride parade. All of this functions, I think, to take heat of Bud Light, who is their competitor. From a purely business perspective, I'm really just surprised none of them seized on a golden opportunity to take down a competitor for financial gain.

It has nothing to do with sticking together. They’re just doing whatever their funding partners want them to do. That’s it. The better ESG score you have, your cost of capital is lower. And that’s super important right now in this inflationary market. What the average consumer wants is irrelevant right now bc everyone is going to have to play by these rules. The only exceptions will be a company with non woke ownership that doesn’t need to get a loan. Let me know when you find that.

This situation perfectly illustrates that. So what is kid rock going to do now? What beer is he going to serve at his bar now? He’s going to be left serving tap water, which he gets from the city of Nashville, which I’m sure supports LGBTQ initiatives.

you may want to go elsewhere.
There's a difference in showing support for a group and blatantly forcing it on you by placing it on a product.

All of the major companies in the U.S. should support the LGBTQ community. They should also support Christians, Jews, Muslims, and any other group that is not violent, and/or at the very least, not show negative treatment of them.

For me, and most I believe, I have no issues with them doing that or Bud Light having a float in the Toronto Pride Parade. It's not on every other commercial during sports games, pop ips in grocery stores, bilboards, etc which inevitably is straight into our children's line of sight. The cans bud light did make it's way to every breathing human in the U.S. like it or not. One must choose to go to the pride parade to have seen that or click on an article etc. The breadth of it does not easily reach most children.

And please don't come with some stupid BS "your children shouldn't see beer, you're setting a great example etc." They go into grocery stores, watch tv, ride down the road, etc. Even the most sheltered kids will see this.

I don't drink bud light anymore because I don't want to explain to my child that it's okay for him to want to be a girl. If that's what he chooses in the long run as an adult, then it is what it is. But I WILL NOT stand for any company shoveling into my children's faces. He has a gay uncle, and I will one day explain that, but a company doing it for me is not acceptable.

Oddly enough though, there are never any claims of "forcing" things on consumers when companies have themed products on the shelves for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Thanksgiving, Black History Month, Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo, Hannukah, etc. There's only one that draws that kind of criticism - and it's clear the reason why.

Because people are shocked they're pushing this stuff on kids? Or are we going with the fantastically deep thought of "it must be homophobia"?
