Butch Jones hired at UT same time Stoops hired here

I know UT football has the tradition that UK doesn't but it's clear that Jones is a much better coach than Stoops and has turned that program around quickly. Stoops acts like he doesn't have a clue but neither does Barnhart, IMO. Made for one another.

Butch hasn't been much better. He's presently coaching for his job. He's only won more because they've had Top 10 recruiting classes. He'd be doing just as poorly here.

Butch almost lost in OT to Appalachian state at home. Had it not been for for a stoops like blunder on the field goal (ie, them not taking that timeout) they probably would have won.

Also the miracle fumble recovery.

And then the SEC looks more of a joke than it already has this first week.

No doubt we should have lost the game..No argument from me. He has won some games against good teams in the last couple years so I'm trying to remain positive. Don't kill it for me.

Tennessee was a whisker away from losing a game that would have been worse than losing to Southern Miss. Butch has been better than Stoops. But, adjusting for resources and expectations, they're closer than you think.

Hollow, I think not. UT did beat Appy State and UK just got the hell beat out of it. Scoreless in the second half. Jones finds ways to win while Stoops just finds ways to lose. Bottom line is UT program has great recruiting classes mainly because of tradition but Jones is winning. Yes Stoops has a tougher road at UK but fans here understand that and are willing to be patient, to a point, but this is not getting better, it's getting worse. Do you think Stoops would have had the same success at UT had he been the coach instead of Jones?

In my opinion, I don't think Butch is all that as a coach, I think he is alot like Dabo. Dabo is smart enough to know he is clueless but surrounds himself with great coordinators and he basically leads the cheers. He is a great recruiter, which I think Butch is, I don't think he has found the coordinators Dabo has. I don't think UT fans were thrilled with their showing Thursday night, Dobbs is still Dobbs, not a good downfield passer at all, but he completed one and it was a game winner. They sure didn't look as good as I expected and if a UT fans says they did I think he is lying to you.
