if they beat them next Wednesday.
I am buying.
Let's look at their current respective resumes:
Arkansas: 18-9, (7-6)
RPI: 45
SOS: 50
Good wins(over ~top 50 rpi):
@Baylor, @VA Commonwealth, Florida, MSU, Ole Miss
Bad losses (over 100 rpi):
@Providence, @UGA, @Bama, South Carolina, Appalachain State
Remaining games:
Vandy, Auburn, @Ole Miss
Ole Miss: 18-9, (4-9)
RPI: 49
SOS: 60
Good wins:
South Alabama, Clemson, New Mexico, MSU, Vandy, Florida
Bad losses:
Auburn twice, @LSU, @Bama, South Carolina
Remaining games:
Bama, Arkansas, @UGA
Let's face it, both teams could easily go to 1-1 besides their head to head. Vandy will probably beat Arkansas on the road, but they'll take care of business against Auburn. Ole Miss will probably beat Bama at home and lose to UGA on the road since AK has yet to win on the road in the SEC this year.
They have very similar resumes, Ole Miss having 1 more quality win and 1 fewer bad losses (although they'll lose @UGA but beating Ark at home will give them another quality win), and Ole Miss at this point could easily end up with 7-8 conference wins or more (from the SECT) and a top 50 rpi. We all saw what happened with Arkansas last year going 7-9 in the regular season and sneaking in with some tournament wins and a nice rpi. Both teams have lost 4 of their last 5.
