Kris Jenkins buzzer beater made my season last night. This thread is about the DI posters buzzer beaters.

I imagine that many of us have played organized basketball. What I would like to know is how many of us have made a buzzer beater. Remember that a game clock has to be in use and referees officiating the game. My time came in church basketball. The game had gone into double over time. With time expiring our best player moved into position to take the shot. At least 3 defensive players went to him. I decided since no one was guarding me to move under the basket. He took about a 20 footer from the left side of the key and missed badly. The ball came off the backboard right into my hands and I shot a fundamental lay up as the ball went through the net as the buzzer sounded. Yep I was excited. OFC

I thought you played with peach baskets in your day?

Me personally, I never hit a buzzer beater in organized play. I was on the other side of one, though, my junior year of high school in the section finals. I still think about it from time-to-time but assumed the pain had gone away. Then last summer at my 20-year reunion we got to talking about it again and pain came back in full force.

I hit one similar to Paige's (not the difficulty of the shot, but the time frame), about 3 seconds before the buzzer in a game my junior year. Unlike UNC, we got the subsequent stop.

My son's team had one two years ago. 4 seconds left and the PG dribbled to half court and shot it. Nothing but net and the kids went crazy. What made it worse is that he pulled a Dillon Brooks and shot it even though we were ahead by 25. He wasn't attempting the shot but everyone went nuts in the stands. Even the parents of the losing team. The opposing coach he didn't think it was to exciting.

I blocked what might have been a buzzer beater once. Had a last play called for me once where I was covered and a teammate hit a buzzer beater instead. I had a walk-off singles and 2 walk-off doubles in baseball. Made 2 tackles followed by 2 pass break-ups on 4 consecutive plays of a goalline stand. (They went at me 4 straight times for good reason, I must admit.) Before I played football, I played soccer and had a last minute game-tying goal once.

Never hit one but the year after I graduated high school I went to one of the teams away games and was sitting on the front row and a kid from the other team hit a half court one to beat us literally 3 feet away from my face. It sucked losing but it was incredible being that close to one..

And for that team it was a big deal, we pretty much owned them for my 4 years in school lol

Turned an unassisted double play one time in church league softball, but no buzzer beaters. :D

I wonder if any of these players who hit buzzer beaters after they get to watch the replay jump up and say "YES!" OFC
Not a buzzer beater, but my one and only hs TD was pretty flukey. A partially blocked punt just landed right in my hands and as everyone else had lost it in the lights, I ran past several opposing players into the end zone while some of them were still looking up, waiting for the ball to come down. I played mainly defense and just wasn't very good, but I leveraged that play into what became a pretty long hs relationship with a girl way hotter than I should have been with. I totally outkicked my coverage on that one. (Hey, @timo0402 , there's another pun!) The aftermath of it for me involved some anxiety over thinking, "What if I'd dropped it? What if I tripped before I got to the end zone? What if I was dating that girl from my Trig class who smells like cigarettes and wears the same Motley Crue t-shirt every day instead?"

You never played sports, you've been in your mom's basement the whole time.

I once hit a full court shot at the buzzer to win the state championship game. Everybody in the building was going nuts, my teammates picked me up on their shoulders and started chanting my name. It was great all up to the point where I woke up and realized that something like that would never happen because the only way I would be in the game at the buzzer is if we were up by 50. :(

I'm so proud of all of the great athletes in this thread. I didn't realize how lucky I was to post with people who were once sports icons at their respective colleges.

Or are we talking High School?

Either way, awesome job guys!
