Earlier I looked up tickets and flights although I didn't get to the hotel though.... ..and I was ready to commit.

....and now I see who we'll be playing.

No thx.. ...a .500 team (with a losing conference record) playing a home game .

Just imagine getting to see all the hot ASU girls! As for the football game, I expect Graham to lay it on us unless we control the entire game with Smallwood.

We also had a losing conference record. This is a very winnable game for once, unlike a lot of our bowl matchups. You may want to reconsider.

We haven't been that great at winning bowl games here recently no matter the competition. (Ex. Syracuse and TX A&M).. Both games we were the favorite in.

Very true. I don't have a clue how we were favored last year. One look at A&M on film and you knew we were toast.

Just saying this game is a lot more capable for us than most years. Whether we actually win is another matter, but we need all the matchup help we can get.

...and I will.

Still, not a 'sexy' matchup. IMO, we're too good for these chumps....and I'd consider it a road game vs a bowl trip.

Phoenix is a great city. I lived there for ten years. Still go there every year at least once a year. Chase field is an awesome stadium. Tempe is 10 minutes from downtown. Yes basically a home game for ASU. If your considering making the trip there is plenty to do no matter what your interests may be.

Vault.. ..it's a hard investment considering our Last game (and who we'll be playing) but I'm trying to convince myself.

I'm in your wheelhouse pretty much....it's a sexy destination with a not so sexy opponent imo, indeed the Mountaineers should beat them...it will come down to dollars and sense....

Arizona St had a couple of near-misses just like WVU did...a loss in 3 OT to Oregon and a final-play FG loss to Cal. Their 2-TD road win at UCLA was better than any we posted this season.

If someone feels like the Mountaineers were just a couple plays and/or breaks from winning 2 more games, then the same could just as easily be said for the Sun Devils. I think it's a better matchup than it might appear at first glance.

That's without even getting into the previous bad blood between Holgorsen and Graham, which gives it a little extra juice. It's a fresh opponent and conference we haven't faced since the Cignetti years...who happens to have the best-looking student body in America...in one of the country's best climates, with tons of great golf and hiking...in a metro area with hundreds of great restaurants.

For a lower-tier bowl game, I don't know that you're ever going to find a better combination of positives than that.

Probably be the same result as the Cignetti years
