Cannot say I agree with the list. Author also said Nicholasville was 80 miles from Lexington when refrencing Holtmann.

I would take Baby Pitino before most. Chaps my *** that Beard is a Knight understudy and Oates has indirect ties to Duke.

10. Richard Pitino
9. Greg Gard
8. Chris Mack
7. Chris Holtmann
6. Nate Oates
5. Mike Young
4. Brad Brownell
3. Shaka Smart
2. Chris Beard
1. Scott Drew

I agree, Richie. A lot of people say that nothing would induce Brad Stevens to leave the Celtics, but ... I'd sure make him turn down the same package that Cal has - without the "lifetime contract", of course. IMHO, Stevens is by far the best choice. If Stevens turned the job down, I'd then make Mark Few turn it down.

1. Brad Stevens
2. Frank Vogel
3. Scott Drew
4. Billy Donovan
5. Beard

If we strike out on those 5 then hire Chris Holtmann.

I have ZERO interest in Bennett( too boring style), Smart(no consistency) and Few wouldn't come.

So, Scott Drew would be better than Cal? A guy who has been at Baylor 19 seasons, has only 2 Elite Eights, zero Final Fours and has missed the tournament 8 times is a good replacement for Cal?

wow....people here have lost their damned minds. Unbelievably stupid.

That is the problem for replacing Cal. Steven's and Donovan are unlikely. It is also unlikely to get someone with the resume Cal had when he was hired. That's not to say we can't get a good coach, but it is likely we will have to take a bit of a chance on someone. I hope we hit a homerun when the time comes, but it will unlikely be a proven coach.

Agreed. I want the Cal back that I've seen since I was 11 years old...I am 40. He just needs a "tweak"...I don't want Cal replaced. That said, if it has to happen it needs to be a legit replacement, not some hot commodity.

He can recruit and has NEVER had the ADVANTAGES at Baylor that the UK job could give him.

This article is about IF Cal decides on HIS OWN to leave UK. It's not about REPLACING Cal IF Cal WANTS to stay. Heck, Cal has a LIFETIME contract.

The top 2 choices are the HOMERUN hires.

I don’t want Scott Drew to ever be our coach. I remember Baylor was in major trouble with the NCAA and was pretty much in shambles when he took over. I’ll give him credit for having a good team this season, but I don’t think he would be a good fit here.

He’s done a great job in building them into a good program from where they were when he took over.

But he’s been there nearly 20 years and his accomplishments are pretty limited. No way should be in consideration for any blue blood program.

It’s Stevens and then everybody else

Would be great but not realistic imo. Oats is really the only viable and possible candidate imo.

He's a dollar store version of what we have now. Cal has some substance underneath the used car salesman veneer. Drew doesn't.

how do you guys know? have you talked to him personally about the kentucky job? Pinto came from the knicks to coach us WHILE WE WERE ON PROBATION. Plus, Cal makes twice as much as he does. Money talks and ******** walks.
