not sure what your goal was with this post. But STOOPS is doing a great job and its ONLY year 3 of cleaning up the mess that was the JOKEr.

Great job? hardly He's done an average job so far. Nick Saban has done a GREAT JOB, Dabo has done a GREAT JOB at Clemson, Urban Meyer has done a GREAT JOB at OSU, etc. You people need to learn adjectives and when to use the proper ones.

UKWildcats, I feel sorry for you. You never have anything good to say about any posts. I would hate to get up in the morning, thinking that would be the best I would feel all day.
All the coaches you name and the programs their at, are the UK's of basketball. They had good, I'm reluctant to say GREAT players when they took over the program.
I agree Stoops did a poor job in some games last year of managing the game, but it is his "first rodeo" as a Head Coach. Very few people are proficient in their first job, but most improve. The jury is still out on Coach Stoops, but let's give him two more years before we judge him as a failure.
Fill your glass half-full, and I guarantee you will be happier.

Unless you have a time machine and can somehow make UK a powerhouse like Bama or OSU, and also have some sort of telepathy to get the quality players and experience that Clemson has to UK, I'd suggest you don't throw stones.

Stoops is the first coach we've had in my time as a fan who attacks Ohio, Florida, and does what he can to lock in KY talent on the recruiting trail. He is an incredible defensive mind and a first time head coach. He asks the AD for equipment and facilities and he gets them. If not for Dawson's ineptitude, we likely go to a bowl this past season. Even so, people like you would still spit fire at our coach. The dude recognizes weaknesses in his staff and does basically a complete rehaul of the offensive staff. I don't know what more you want from a first-time coach.

Simmer down, Sparky. We aren't the OSU, Bama, or Clemson. We don't have the convenience of home-state top tier talent, a winning history, or even the advantage of being able to hire quality head coaches from other good programs of the football world. Things don't come as easy for this program as they do the other ones.

Good Lord.

Hard to argue with that. I'm not trying to bash Stoops in any way because I want him to succeed here, but the jury is still out on his head coaching ability.

I remember when Joker was on the hot seat and Cal said he supported him too. Don't read too much into this. That's just the kind of guy Cal is.

Cal should coach special teams as collateral duty or maybe pickup up some OT as a special teams coach.

Yeah, yeah, I know, stars don't really matter.

Watching the game so will just do a quick look, looking at UK's best classes in ages, with TEN four stars, in 14. But the same year Bama had FIFTEEN four stars, and while UK had two above average at 5.9, Bama had FIVE near five star 6.0s------but then the real difference was the FOUR five stars Bama had in their class, the real thing.

Then in 15 we fell off to our normal, or even above, two four stars------but Bama still had their FIFTEEN four stars AND their FOUR five stars------you know, players like Couch. And I don't really think you want to go back any farther with the comparison.

I know, I know, silly to bring it up, just coach them up-------but still-----

Cal is a company man, so of course he's going to stand up for his colleague. However, I respect Coach Cal for going out of his way to help our football program and coaching staff. He is an asset to the ENTIRE university.

Some fans forget that we are all in this together. Cal is for what's best for the University of Kentucky and ALL of our sports programs.

I wish more fans could support all UK sports!!

Maybe because they only scored on a turnover inside the ten, an interception, and a trick play that was outlawed in high school AND grade school decades ago?

We had plenty of chances to win that game.

Of course Cal's going to support Stoops. Cal tries to support everything about UK. I can't agree that Stoops is doing a great job. And we're going into year 4, can't say it's year 3 anymore. I hope next year brings major improvement to the team but he changed OC's again which he's tried before ? I applaud his recruiting so hopefully he's got things right this time. I'm sorry but I've yet to see anything remotely close to 'great' from him. Hopefully next year's the year.

hardly stupid. point being the FB team poses exactly zero threat to him, popularity-wise, funding-wise, support-wise or otherwise. disputing that is not too wise.

Yeah, recruiting top classes and being in the hunt for a NC every year (probably should have had one last year, but there is a reason they play the game) will tend to make you look good------no matter what.

But personally I think he looks good in every aspect of being a coach and representing our University, perhaps you would care to elaborate-----IF you can really come up with something.

Perhaps you should go back over to the UL boards, they are very creative.

I have been a UK fan longer then you have ! But i live in reality ,,Cal is the best Recruiter in the Country no doubt , In game Coaching is another story ! If he couldn't win it all with the last team then i doubt he'll win another one !!! You should try the UofL board Jauk you act just like Louisville fans !

Are you really that ignorant? There are these things in sports called matchups. Wisconsin was a bad matchup for us. Cal has went to 4 final fours in the last 5 years, name another coach that's done that. How many titles does coach k himself have? 5? and he's been at duke for what, 40 years? You may have been a uk fan longer then him, but you've been ignorant longer also.
