He does stand with his players... where exactly are you seeing his lack of self awareness?Does he not have any self awareness?
Hes just responding to the Yahoo Article. He does stand with his players... where exactly are you seeing his lack of self awareness?
Wenyen shat firstSure you will Cal!!!! Signed, W. Gabriel
He does, to the point the point that UK and the program be damned. That is his lack of self awareness. He isn't apologetic for it and he will not change. He does stand with his players... where exactly are you seeing his lack of self awareness?
I mean what is he suppose to say ?. “I don’t stand by my players” ? he will say that even if he didn’t believe it. For “lifetime contract” millions of dollars. I would too, this is he’s livelihood
What you just described is not a lack of self awareness. He does, to the point the point that UK and the program be damned. That is his lack of self awareness. He isn't apologetic for it and he will not change.
John Calipari is the Donald Trump of college basketball.
Thank you.Saying that he he will always “stand with” the players was a bad choice of words in this context.
Except sometimes they aren't little things.Exactly lol.
I mean I feel like this is like when you are in a bad relationship with someone and then every little thing they do bothers you. That's the Cal/fans relationship right now.
I would shut my mouth and worry about winning games before the fans stop purchasing tickets. As a season ticket holder, I can promise you that there’s a lot of us who are losing interest in throwing thousands to see this **** product and listen to our liberal coach.I mean what is he suppose to say ?. “I don’t stand by my players” ? he will say that even if he didn’t believe it. For “lifetime contract” millions of dollars. I would too, this is he’s livelihood
For the record, kneeling used to bother me. But then I started asking myself why do I care what these people do?
But this does remain true.
1.) Politics do not belong in sports.
2.) More people would get behind the police brutality thing if they weren't so busy fighting over people kneeling over the flag.
I'm fine with Cal backing his players too. But screaming about it on Twitter does nothing. Just further separation from a portion of the fan base. May be signs of losing it.
My take.
They all knelt and then they bent over for Bama .Actually he knelt
Hes just responding to the Yahoo Article.
He would do well to take his own advice and not listen to the noise. Instead he took the bait. It was a hit piece; he would have been better served ignoring it and not giving it the attention to keep it alive. His players know he has their back.
I could get behind supporting them if they didn’t burn down cities. The nation was watching with Floyd and there would have been movement-but when you loot, steal, rob, and kill under the premise of equality, I can’t support it.
What was he reasonably supposed to do? Tell his players they can’t kneel and express the frustration they feel with how they are treated by the society in the country in which they live? Yes, he could have done that he is the coach and has the final authority in the situation. But if he does that then our recruiting will fall off a cliff and recruiting African Americans to come live in an environment where they are told to “just shut up and dribble” becomes immensely more difficult. Almost every business tries to cater to it’s clientele so I can understand a coach catering to his players and his future players. Politics is sooooo toxic in this country right now and I wish that a situation hadn’t arisen that injected politics into sports. But it did happen and he was approached by his players and put between a rock and a hard place and he decided to back his players and his future players.2k comments within 30 minutes of posting to Facebook! And about 80% are negative directly calling Cal out.
I don’t think he can talk his way out of this one.
This is a conservative state that Trump won in a landslide. The majority of the people live and breathe KY basketball.
It’s not California or somewhere with multiple college and pro sports teams. You know big money boosters that were Cal fans have flipped!
Bad hand played by Cal on this one!
The product on the court is making it even easier for people to cut ties with him!
