After a near century Texas finally plays in a major bowl game Loses the Big 12 championship and all of a sudden they claim to be back?? I Think not ! Win the Big 12 and then maybe make that claim.... Until then Texas really needs to Stop bumping their Gums...

They split with OU, beat Georgia, and finished in the top 10...Tom Herman has Texas back on track, and the proof is right before your eyes. He's doing it on the field AND in recruiting. #3 recruiting class in 2018 & 2019. The Big 12 Championship alone, doesn't tell the entire story...plus its hard to beat a good team twice, in the same year. OU won the Big 12, but that doesn't mean Texas isn't back. OU hasn't won a NC in two decades, but it's not going to stop you guys from talking. It's football, why are some of you so sensitive? By the way, Gundy likes to bump his gums too, but he was quick to block me on Twitter. Welp...

The Conference championship (i.e. Big 12) does tell the story in today’s college football world, unless your team is an SEC team. If Texas doesn’t win the Big 12 they are not back, because they are not in the final four; it is about playing for championships. Beating a team twice in a year is hard, but you should look at your leadership in Austin for how the Big 12 is currently constituted. OU has not won a MNC in a while, but has stayed relevant by winning conference championships, playing for MNC’s, and more recently making the playoffs; Texas has not. Who is sensitive here? OU fans commenting on one of their coach’s funny tweets about a rival or a Texas fan coming to an OU message board trying to set us straight looking through burnt orange glasses?

2000- OU 41 KSU 31
CCG- OU 27 KSU 24

2002- OU 27 CU 11
CCG- OU 27 CU 9

2007- OU 41 Mizzou 31
CCG- OU 38 Mizzou 17

2017- OU 38 TCU 20
CCG- OU 41 TCU 17

Maybe it's just me, but rematches against teams that OU has already beaten that season, kind of look like cake from where I'm standing.

Those teams you beat twice, were not great teams. Not the same as having to beat a playoff team twice...they were not on ou's level.

Lets see Tom Herman has 10 losses in his first two years. That is an average of 5 losses a year.
Is that good??????

There is no context in those numbers. In only two years, Herman has Texas back in the top 10. There is more to those numbers.

An average? That's asinine. An average?

An average? Is that simple and stupid thinking???????? An average?

!0 losses in two years is terrible. A bad Maryland team beat texas twice. In Texas's most important game of the season for the Big 12 Championship OU won in double digits and texas only scored 27 points.

Texas will have 2 losses before they play in the Oklahoma game in the upcoming season.
Their loss to OU will be texas loss #3

What was I thinking...you're bullmarket. Maybe you need you need to take a another long vacation or eat a snickers. No logic that makes sense, just mumbling. You do realize Texas had ou down for most of that second game, and a few oh by the way points at the end, made it a double digit win. Most people that watched that game, know ou didn't win in the manner, that you're claiming they did. OU barely pulled it out...but congrats on winning a close game, after Texas had already beat you in the RRS. Texas finished #9 on the year...one game is not a season, which is why Texas finished #9. That Maryland team took Ohio State to overtime, and Army played OU close. Those games tend to happen, but that game alone doesn't define the season. But again, you're bullmarket. We finished #9. Nothing you say can change that. Say it out loud bullmarket. TOP 10...were back hater #1. OU has no defense and no Kyler...we'll see what that brings. I got Texas beating ou, and I'm not sure ou will be in the Big 12 Championship, with that defense, a new system, no Murray, no NFL offensive line. But good job being you bullmarket. Years ago I wouldn't have even read your post...I'm thinking nothing has changed with you.

Shorthorns trolls come along all the time. Spouting off crap about being back...drinking a mason jar full of Herman’s kool aid ...and touting Ehlinger the next McCoy. Truth is that they will again finish second...struggle mightily....and show this was a mirage.

I would say the Cyclones are more relevant in the XII-2 (thanks whorms) and worry more about their defense. Oh texsa, what about those 3 tds you gave up in the last 8 mins of the RRR and all you lose on D ? Paper prima donnas. Yeah Murray is gone so we'll match Ehlinger with big Hurts, the next Texas boy who spurned 'da forty'

And for any/all the trolls; the box score for the Champ game shows the SOONERS took the lead just before the half and NEVER trailed in the 2nd but 'keep on believing' you're back as the old song goes

The dude/lady/ladude expects us to just accept that the shortwhorns are back because he/she/ze says so. When you have to fansplain how awesome the team is, it really isn't that awesome.

To the neutered steer fans... OU has won more Big 12 Championships in football in the past 4 years than UT has total since joining the Big 12. Get some hardware before you silly asses come to Daddy's house to talk smack. Baylor and K State are your peers in the Big 12. It sucks, but that's your reality.

If Tom Herman was at OU with 10 losses in his first two years, He would now be fired.
Also OU does not like coaches who kiss their players. (Only at texas is this tolerated.)

Yeah, you're right. I mean, it's not like Missouri was the #1 ranked team in the nation when OU beat them for the 2nd time in the CCG. Oh, wait, they were. Now, I find out that the top ranked team in the country wouldn't have even been a playoff team, even if they'd won their CCG. That was one screwy system we were in back then. Glad you could clear that up for me.

As for KSU, they had 1 non-OU loss (as did '17 TCU, btw). If they win that CCG, they'd have gotten bumped up a good 2-3 spots & while that probably doesn't get them into a playoff, they'd have certainly been in the discussion (much in the way a good number of people were trying their best to excuse UGA's loss to Bama this year as forgivable) thanks to having played & beaten the #1 (& only undefeated) team in the nation. BTW, I've seen/heard several interviews from players on the '00 OU team, & they all to a man have said that KSU, not FSU, was the best team they played that year.

TCU, as said before, had 1 non-OU loss, & you know what? Even with those 2 L's to OU, they finished ranked 9th (same as UT) with those 3 losses. That, however, would be one less loss than that team that's baaaaaaaaack.

'02 CU is the only team you can legitimately make your claim about & there's nothing OU could've done about that one. They won the north that year, end of story.

It would be cool if Debby could compete with Whisky & northwestern; I just want them to beat iowa 8 of the next 10 years. The hawx have already penciled the b1g west as theirs this year as they always delusionally do, based on barely winning their last bowl game

I agree. But I would much rather see Nebraska on the rise back to being in the hunt every year than I would TexasSux!! My biggest hope and wish when this big conference blow ups happen is if we go to a existing conference (Big 10) and Big 12 dissolves, lets leave them fvcks to themselves. I've read articles saying Texas would look at going Independent if that happens. I say great, we don't need them in our conference, they bring nothing nor do they add anything beneficial to other members. We do want to keep the RRR in Dallas at the old Cotton Bowl, and play it annually as 1 OOC game. We need this solely for recruiting those ex Tex boys wants to kick their *** 1 time a yr wearing OU on the helmet. **** Texas!!! I also say we don't need to tow OSU with us wherever we go. Let them fend for them. We don't even really have the need to play them OOC every year either. Just my opinion. But I personally hope for a 4- 16 Team Super Conference. That will total 64 and logically would be the top 64 in the country. Then I would like to see it played on the NFL model for divisions 1-4 playoffs 1 and 2 each division + wildcards each division. Whatever it takes. But even then I hope they separate from Texas and stay out of a division they are in. **** texassux
