I just heard a bit of news but cannot confirm its validity. I was told that if OU Offense hits a wall or goes cold we will see Caleb Willams to ignite the run game. Personally, I hope Rattler lights them up early and often. No desperate times or desperate measures in the RRR please.

Brooks asked not to be the starter when he returned, or so I've read. I don't know why. But seems until last Saturday, he was very much under-utilized. That's what confused me. But I think all that has changed now.
Thanks for that note. Maybe he has a little embarrassment from sitting out last year... didn't think his teammates would respect him. Just a guess based on your note.
Come Saturday I expect we'll see Brooks come on the field in the first series, I'd be surprised if we didn't. The only thing that may keep Brooks on the bench some is his horrible blocking skills. For a guy fixing to enter the draft he should really clean that up imo.
I was at the game. At half time I told Roxy Valora (Forrest wife) that we have another 30 minutes of football that is going to amaze the nation. A game of 2 halves. I was confident we would win the 2nd half. Texas O Line was wearing down. OU was in better shape physically and it showed as the game progressed. I will admit that I talked down about Drake Stoops a few weeks ago. This kid deserved a game ball for the key blocks he threw off the line. He made a difference. Kennedy Brooks should buy that boy a big steak. Jaden Davis needs to work on speed drills and technique. He gets turned around and loses a few steps regardless of the receiver. Xavier Worthy is hands down the best player in Austin.
On the OU playback show tonight Blevins asked about the Qb's and how Riley would deal with it. Riley said they will go with the QB that "gives them the best chance to win" and will determine that this week some time.

Seems you are pretty tight with Forrest. I have an old acquaintance from back in the day who's also friends with him. Have you ever run into Brent Carel at one of your gatherings?
I have not run into Carel. Yes, Forrest and I are good friends. He is a die hard OU Sooner as is all of his kids and grandkids. They all have #82 jerseys. We make the OU watch party games here also.

He had more than a little luck Saturday, but his poise for a guy who's barely played since his junior year of high school was remarkable. He also screwed up two really important snaps, that just have to be caught.
If we go straight to Caleb for the rest of the year, there are going to be some serious growing pains.

You can bet big money that C-Q is being practiced after the sun goes down this week. Raym to Williams over and over and over.
Riley has a balancing act to perform this week. Trying to keep Rattler from sulking away in the corner and appeasing popular opinion both inside and outside the locker room. The on-field performance spoke for itself on Saturday. Rattler's head is somewhere else at present. Williams wanted the spot light and took it. I watched the game five time today. We received some gift plays from UT but we also gave some gifts to UT. I suspect Riley will keep the "day to day QB competition" dialogue going forward. It's not secret, the cat is out of the bag, the team rallies around Williams and responds to his boost of energy. Let's hope Riley can maximize the potential of the current situation.
The only thing I remember about Psychology was something about Pavlov's dogs, feeding pigeons and that I fell into that category of fight rather than flight. All else is a blur.
Never been impressed with Rattler and have said here many times he was overhyped.
I have seen his backup play once, ONCE and was impressed, Caleb has the "it" factor and appears to be a leader. Our starter QB and a Team Captain was seen on the sidelines acting strange when his teammate scored a 66 yd TD Run when we had to have one to close the 1st half gap. Speaks volumes to me.

I think the growing perception is Rattler is here as part of business decision. Riley is putting QB's in the NFL. Rattler has never showed the enthusiasm that some of our other QB's have at being here. With that said, I think his persona, especially from the netflix show, has come back to haunt him and reality is probably somewhere in the middle. He is not overtly a champion type like a Caleb Williams or Baker and even Kyler to some extent getting emotionally hyped up and infecting the team in a similar fashion. In his defense, it may not be who he is. I never watched his high school games so I have no idea. However, if he were fake, everyone on the team would detect it. So, "to thy own self be true."

The spotlight has always been on Spencer since he was about 13 years old. He does not know how to manage the shade very well and it showed on Saturday. He gave it a valiant try but he failed miserably at facial reactions and body language. I am told the team (lead by Hall) are willingly rallying around him this week. Constructive criticism can be bitter, sweet, discouraging and encouraging. How Rattler handles himself on and off the field on Saturday will be under a national microscope.
All I remember about my psyche class was being a lab subject. Going out to the old barracks near Lloyd Noble and playing one of these for about an hour.
Spencer couldn't light up the sisters of the blind as we've all seen even if half the horn toads are injured. Unleash Caleb! Imo.
He lit up the Gaytors last Cotton Bowl when they “didn’t want to be there”
We have seen the best and the worst of SR and we know what we have for the future. Maybe we’ll see tomorrow if Iron sharpens iron, we’ll need all the healthy bodies available to finish the year that we‘ve got.
